Flint Marko a.k.a. Sandman After fighting Spider-Man, he was convinced by Brock to join forces to kill the web-slinger, but after Venom and Brock's defeat and Harry's death, Sandman saw Spider-Man unmasked and learned who he really was.
He becomes enemies with Spider-Man, who unknown to him, is Ben's nephew Peter. He later teams up with Venom to destroy Spiderman. However, after eventually discovering Spider-Man's identity, Flint lets go of his animosity and regretfully expresses his actions and remorse around Ben's death.
Ultimately, Sandman's antagonistic actions were mostly the result of his fear of losing his daughter. However, when he found out that Spider-Man was really Peter Parker, Flint lost all his animosity towards him, realizing that Peter was only opposing him because of what he had unwittingly done to Ben Parker.
However, when Green Goblin sabotaged these plans, Sandman sided against Spider-Man, as he no longer cared about curing himself or the other Multiversal visitors and simply wanted to return home to his daughter.
After Peter respectfully and compassionately forgave him, Flint made his peace with him and Peter allowed him to leave peacefully, now a man who made peace with his mistakes and putting the past behind both of them.
