Tim Drake's takeover of the Nightwing mantle in the Batman/Lobo Elseworlds story proved to be his downfall, leading to his untimely death. Tim esd out of his element as Nightwing, rather than playing to his natural strengths, which ultimately costs him his life.
Nightwing. In the pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths continuity, the maturing Dick Grayson grows weary of his role as Batman's young sidekick. He renames himself Nightwing, recalling his adventure in the Kryptonian city of Kandor, where he and Batman meet the local hero of the same name.

Dick Grayson was a superhero and protégé of Batman. Grayson first acted as Batman's original Robin before striking out on his own as Nightwing. However, after his accidental death caused by Damian Wayne, Dick became the successor to Boston Brand as the second Deadman, a superhero working from beyond the grave.
It is revealed that Dick Grayson retired from being Nightwing after being severely wounded in a fight with The Joker, he was in a coma for some time and his legs were temporarily paralyzed because of a bullet in his spine.

Robin the Boy Wonder was actually Dick Grayson, the youngest of a family of circus aerialists, who witnessed his mother and father plunging to their deaths from a sabotaged trapeze. This murder was also observed by wealthy socialite Bruce Wayne.
The dissolution of their relationship was more due to editorial interference than anything else. DC's creative team wanted Nightwing to be known as a Batman character and cut his ties to the Titans for a while. Since Starfire was a Teen Titans character, this meant the end of their long and tenuous romance.

Death. In Batman Incorporated #8, Damian is killed by his clone, The Heretic, during a Leviathan invasion of Wayne Tower. Shortly before his death Damian has a heart to heart talk with Nightwing.
Among the big announcements from James Gunn about the future of the DCU was news of a new Batman in a film called The Brave and the Bold. This movie would have our first big-screen Robin in 25 years. But that Robin won't be Dick Grayson, but Damian Wayne, Bruce's biological son.
Helena Wayne is the original incarnation of The Huntress, originating from the original golden age Batman continuity of Earth 2. Helena was the biological daughter of Batman and Catwoman, raised to be a lawyer-by-day/vigilante-by-night and eventually became her father's successor.
Various DC titles established the existence of Earth-2, an alternate universe where the heroes of DC's Golden Age comics still exist. In this world, Batman and Catwoman eventually got married and raised a daughter, Helena. Long before they settled down in the regular DCU, Bruce and Selina tied the knot on Earth-2.
