That was a super brief overview, but you'll have to experience this cinematic masterpiece yourself to get the full story. In the movie, Replicants look just like humans with one simple thing that sets them apart–their eyes. When watching the film, the audience will notice that the Replicants have glowing pupils.
Deckard's eyes glow briefly in one scene, which was used in the film to subtly suggest his replicant identity. However, Ford denies this was an intentional effect and he may have caught some of the light intended to fall on Sean Young's eyes.
A replicant can be detected by means of the fictional Voight-Kampff test in which emotional responses are provoked; a replicant's nonverbal responses differ from those of a human. Failing the test leads to execution, which is euphemistically referred to as "retiring".
Replicants have the same physical appearance and biological functions as humans, though they cannot reproduce. Replicants are created from the genetic data of their respective Gestalt, and their appearance is based on the Gestalt's original human body.
Lights and mirrors. Getting the glint to appear in a replicant's eye, as it does at one point with Rachael (Sean Young) while she is smoking a cigarette in "Blade Runner," involved angling a small light into a mirror off-camera.

Why do replicants' eyes glow?
What critics failed to understand is that the glowing eyes weren't there for the characters or actors, but rather for the audience. The Replicants eyes didn't actually glow in the world of Blade Runner. It was simply a stylistic choice to help the audience follow the narrative.
The anti-villain is dying in the middle of fighting Deckard, with his pale hand exhibiting signs of shutting down as Roy's replicant body gives up on its existence. To keep himself in the fight a little longer, Roy jams a nail into his hand.
Nexus-6 replicants had a built-in four-year lifespan, created as a safety mechanism to prevent possible emotional development. Due to their short lifespans, replicants had no framework within which to deal with their emotions.
Replicants like K are capable of feeling sensations, and emotions, and having thoughts similar to humans. So, there is no moral grounds to treat them as badly as they are treated.
Replicants were used Off-world as slave labor, in the hazardous exploration and colonization of other planets. After a bloody mutiny by a NEXUS 6 combat team in an Off-world colony, Replicants were declared illegal on earth — under penalty of death.
In order to make them as efficient as possible, the Replicants were made self-aware and given full brain function, complete with the capacity to think, feel, and even hope.
Replicants were sometimes referred to as "skin jobs" or "skinners," as they were indistinguishable from non-engineered humans, except for their empathetic abilities. These terms were considered slurs. Mentioned in the original Blade Runner.
They never seem to say for sure but from what I'd gathered Replicants are genetically engineered and artificially grown but biologically speaking are essentially the same as humans, as in under their skin, they have muscles and bones and organ tissue and not wires and computer chips and metal frames, right?
Because of this memory, K became convinced that he was Rachael and Deckard's child, but was eventually informed by Freysa that he was not and that the child was female. With this revelation, K soon determined that Stelline was the child. K took Deckard to Stelline's lab as she interacted with a snowfall hologram.

It seems likely to me that there is little or no machinery inside the replicants. They certainly bleed, sweat and cry like other humans. We see no indication of machinery when Zhora and Pris are killed (although Pris' death does seem rather robot-like); instead we see flesh and blood.
Blade Runner 2049 revealed that Rachael was the first replicant to get pregnant. Deckard is the father, and it's suggested - though never stated aloud - that the only way a replicant could get pregnant is by another replicant.
Prior to the events of the film, Deckard's replicant lover Rachael became pregnant with his child but died in childbirth. Deckard was forced to leave the child, a girl, with a replicant freedom movement and scrambled the child's birth records to protect her before disappearing.
Firstly, Nexus replicants are identical to humans in every regard, including genetics. That's why the empathy test is required. Secondly, if replicants live long enough they also develop “emotional responses” IE empathy. That's why Tyrell corp limits them to five years.
She weeps when they suffer and is heartbroken when they die, but is incapable of acting to stop either. Like so many people who feel helpless in today's society, Luv is a prisoner to her programming. Luv's first very-human tears come as she witnesses a murder.
In an uncharacteristic display of mercy, Roy grabbed Deckard and dragged his body onto the roof. Moments later, as his four-year lifespan drew to a close, Roy reflected on the moments he had been privileged enough to witness: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe: attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
After Rachael left Los Angeles with Deckard, the two conceived a daughter. Rachael died during the cesarean section delivery on June 10, 2021, conducted by Sapper Morton. The child was left in the care of a replicant freedom group.
