Due to his heritage, Aquaman discovered as a youth that he possessed various superhuman abilities, including the powers of surviving underwater, communication with sea life and tremendous swimming prowess.
Hydrokinesis: Jackson has the ability to control water by "speaking" to it mentally. He inherited it from his mother (It is unknown how she acquired these powers, as they are usually reserved for Xebelian royalty).
Aquakinesis (also Hydrokinesis and Water Warping Powers) is a powerful ability relating to the controlling of water. A proficient Aquakinetic can not only control the flow of water but even created "hard water" constructs.
Aquaman's Not As Powerful On Land, But He's Not Helpless
For example, because he's used to seeing in the darkness of the ocean depths, his eyes are more sensitive on the surface. Even still, he is definitely nowhere near helpless on land.
Aquaman, while having super strength (which also likely contributes to his stunning swimming speeds), does not come anywhere near the strength Superman possesses. Therefore, Superman is able to swim a lot “harder,” making the speeds very close. Of course, he also has extreme super speed.
With access to this force, Aquaman can use his powers on any body of water or aquatic animal in the universe. He is the main user and enforcer of the will of the ocean and became intertwined with all sea life and anything that evolved from sea life.
Weaknesses. Dryness: If Aquaman stays dry for too long, he will die. Batman declared himself awesome, and takes it upon himself to keep Aquaman wet at all times. Despite Aquaman's complaints, Batman continues in his attempts to make Aquaman wet.
Combined with his telepathy, Aquaman's weapons and abilities would give Superman a run for his money and ultimately would create an incredibly hard challenge for the Kryptonian to face. With Superman vulnerable, Aquaman could accomplish many things as he keeps his foe under control.
Similar to Zeus, Aquaman can have the Trident summon blasts and bolts of lightning, as well as generate and project powerful lightning bolts from the weapon. Moreover, Poseidon's control over the seas allowed Aquaman to control and generate water as well, including control over ice.
The ability was initially portrayed much more straightforwardly, with Aquaman able to outright command all sea life to do whatever he told it. Later, these commands became more "nudges,” and there were some creatures, such as piranhas, that he struggled to control.
Many assume that Arthur can always control water, but this is not the case. While he has had and can access hydrokinesis, it's not a natural power to him like it is to his wife Mera.
Namor and Aquaman have had instances of immense power in their respective comics, but Namor has the edge. Marvel's King of Atlantis has made Hercules bleed, held his own against the Avengers, and almost destroyed Wakanda with a devastating tidal wave.
Telepathy is the ability to communicate with others using only the power of the mind. Some alien races, such as Martians, possess this ability as a natural extension of the powers common to all Martians. In some cases, certain restrictions may apply to an individual's ability to harness this power.
Aquaman is one of the fastest swimmers in the ocean. He chases German U-boats, out-swims dolphins, can even catch up to a torpedo. The Justice League reports that Aquaman can swim at 10,000 feet per second. 10,000 feet per second is more than 3 kilometers per second, or 6,800 miles per hour.
The truth is, Aquaman can communicate with sea life and creatures through telepathy, and he can even gain complete control over all of them. This means that Aquaman can control dangerous sea animals, such as sharks, whales and stingrays to attack the enemies on his behalf.
Aquaman is not immortal. Keep in mind, "immortal" doesn't mean "can't be killed", it means "ages indefinitely". He probably can'\t defeat Wonder Woman. She beat him in A League of One (admittedly, with help from charybdis) and in Flashpoint.
AQUAMAN wins. Even though Spiderman must have faced the Hulk, he always avoids Hulk punches and can still be injured by bullets because Spiderman still has a level durability (3) which means the peak human in Marvel.
Yes. Like every fictional super ”hero”, being struck by lightning would increase the superpower of that being. (Unless, of course, the writers decided there would be some other impact.
Dedicated to the heroes of DC who have connections to the gods of DC. Is Aquaman a god? Interesting question, you wouldn't necessarily be wrong if you were to think that… But No, he's not. He's half Atlantean and half human.
