The character Loki is known for faking his death multiple times throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe, allowing him to continue appearing in new shows and films.
Loki will most likely return to the main Marvel series for two reasons. Firstly, it is technically possible for him to have survived an asphyxiation like that, via CPR or just the fact that he's, you know, a GOD. But the second and more likely answer is becuase money.
If loki is dead then how does he appear in the loki series as they mention that it took place after the endgame? Yes Loki is dead, he got killed by Thanos in Avengers Infinity War (2018). But the Loki from the Loki series, is indeed Loki, but not the same Loki that died in Infinity War.
Loki, as it turns out, was the only one who could save the TVA—and so from the moment Sylvie killed He Who Remains, he was destined to need to hold the timelines in place. He's now Loki Who Remains, possibly for the rest of time.

After dying in Avengers: Infinity War's opening sequence, Loki was brought back to the MCU thanks to Avengers: Endgame's time-heist. Now technically a variant of the Loki seen from The Avengers to Infinity War, he is once again on a path of redemption.
Meanwhile, the events of Endgame and Loki gave fans hope that Thor would get a chance to see the person Loki became, easing the grief from seeing his brother's death. Unfortunately, the Loki finale all but ensures that won't happen. There is one small glimmer of hope, though.
Here, holding on to all of the timelines, he became a kind of tree god, physically representing the Norse tree of life, Yggdrasil. It was a poignant and painful ending for Loki, who now seems to be sentenced to being alone for eternity as he watches over the timelines.
Although he's alive, there's no confirmation of a Loki season 3 or his return in future Avengers movies. Marvel has not confirmed when or if Loki will return. While there might be potential for a variant of Loki in a future project, it remains unclear. Loki's ending makes sense as a final one.
Thanos destroys everyone and everything on the ship. He takes the Tesseract (which has an Infinity Stone inside) from Loki and then chokes the god of mischief until he dies.
By far, Loki is now the strongest MCU character. It was shown in season 1 of Loki that Timelines=the universe. Loki held infinity of them with his strength.
Of course, Loki is always one step ahead, and it's revealed at the end of the film that he faked his death to return to Asgard, cast a spell on Odin, and impersonate him in order to become king.
Creation of a branched reality: When Loki escapes with the Tesseract, he creates a branched reality, according to the Russo Brothers, the directors of Avengers: Endgame. This means that a new timeline is created where Loki is still alive [3].
Loki takes his place as the God of Stories and holds the timelines together, forming a tree-like time structure (AKA Yggdrasil). This also means that for the rest of time, Loki will be alone, but also will oversee his family and friends forever.
What is Loki the god of? Loki was regarded by the ancient Norse people as the god of mischief, trickery, and deception. He was also seen as the father of several gods and Jotunns, including Sleipnir, Hel, Jormungandr, and Fenrir.
Becoming the God of Stories, Loki is now a living Temporal Loom holding all the branches together. To that end, Loki has transformed the timelines into a true multiverse tree, complete with roots and actual branches with Loki himself at the center keeping it all growing and alive while sitting on a new throne.
In the finale of season 2 of Loki, Loki destroys the Temporal Loom and uses his magic to revive the dying timelines. He commits himself to a fate of solitude, sitting alone at the End of Time to watch over the multiverse.
If you are casually watching, or not a big fan of time travel genre, it could be very confusing for sure. It's complicated because Loki develops a new ability and before he learns to master it he bounces around to multiple different points in time in the last episode, even going to the season finale of season 1.

It was a brilliant ending in which killing Kang is not the answer, in fact not killing him is one of the only paths forward, but Loki forges a new solution, holding the entire multiverse together as the new God of Stories nestled in a cosmic Yggdrasil world tree.
Although they are commonly represented as brothers in modern literature and representations, traditionally they were not considered brothers. Loki became blood brothers with Odin, Thor's father, after they participated in a blood-sharing ritual. Loki is thus Thor's adopted uncle, not his adopted brother.
