What happens after Voyager gets home?
Star Trek: Nemesis revealed that Captain Janeway had been promoted to Admiral after Voyager's return home, while Star Trek: Prodigy showed the now Vice Admiral Janeway in command of a new ship, the USS Dauntless, working to locate a missing Captain Chakotay (Robert Beltran).
Unlike previous Star Trek series, Voyager's ending was not a surprise. The plan to end was already in place when producer Branon Braga left after season 6 to begin work on Star Trek: Enterprise.
She served as the captain of the Starfleet starship USS Voyager while it was lost in the Delta Quadrant on the other side of the galaxy. After returning home to the Alpha Quadrant, she is promoted to vice admiral and briefly appears in the 2002 film Star Trek: Nemesis.
Neelix departs the show in the seventh season's 23rd episode "Homestead". The ship encounters a colony of Talaxians, the last of his species that he is likely to see as the ship travels further from his home, and he chooses to stay with them. The character returns for a cameo in the series finale, "Endgame".
Mulgrew kept active in doing voice-over work for video games, most notably voicing the mysterious Flemeth in the Dragon Age video game series, a role she described as "delicious". Mulgrew returned to television in 2006, guest-starring in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
While on NBC, Star Trek's Nielsen ratings were low and the network canceled it after three seasons and 79 episodes. In the United Kingdom the series was not broadcast until July 12, 1969, coinciding with the Apollo 11 mission to land the first humans on the Moon.
There were complications during the birth, and the child died. However, a subspace accident had duplicated Voyager and the duplicated child was returned to Samantha when her counterpart was killed. (VOY: "Deadlock") The child was later named Naomi.
Kate Mulgrew's opposition to Seven of Nine as a character led to Mulgrew treating Jeri Ryan poorly on-set, and a rumored feud arising between the two actors while Star Trek: Voyager was in production.
Although Kes is portrayed as fragile and innocent, she is also shown as having a hidden strength and maturity. Voyager's producers reluctantly fired Lien after her personal issues affected her reliability on set.
Now, nearly 50 years after launch, they're still operational and still racing out of the solar system at a rate of about 500 million kilometers (300 million miles) per year. The two were planning their fourth date in the series finale (“Endgame”) and future Admiral Janeway revealed they did get married in what became an alternate timeline. In that future, Seven was killed on a mission in 2381 and Chakotay died in 2394.
This was because two of the key people involved with Voyager weren't keen on the idea of a romance between Janeway and Chakotay. Famously, Kate Mulgrew opposed a romantic subplot, which was why Janeway and Chakotay never became a couple.
However, that didn't sit well with Beltran (as noted in his tweet), and he turned down the role. Matalas told TrekMovie.com that he thought it was a "cool idea" because of Seven and Chakotay's relationship history on Voyager, but "we didn't go too far with it" because of Beltran.
In the episode "The 37's", Tom Paris tells Amelia Earhart that Warp 9.9 is about 4 billion miles per second (using customary units for the character's benefit). That is more than 14 times the value of Warp 9 and equal to around 21,400 times speed of light.
Warp factor 10 was set as an unattainable maximum of a theoretical infinite speed, at which an object would occupy all points in the universe simultaneously (according to the new scale, reaching or exceeding warp 10 required an infinite amount of energy).
