Venom has extensive and gratuitous violence, including torture. For example: The alien symbiotes transform the limbs of their human hosts into knife and blade-like weapons, which they use to stab and maim people.
Despite his hatred of Spider-Man, Venom has a twisted sense of morality, avoiding harming anyone he deems to be innocent and even performing heroic deeds. However, it is never clear how long Venom's darker impulses can be held in check.
He is arguably the series' most heinous villain, surpassing the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Tombstone, who all have less resources. He does not have a tragic backstory, redeeming qualities, comedic moments or even a Freudian Excuse for his actions and shows no remorse for what he does at all.

Who is the most brutal symbiote?
Carnage. Perhaps the Marvel Universe's deadliest symbiote, Carnage debuted in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) #345. Shortly after spawning from Venom, the Carnage symbiote bonded to a serial killer named Cletus Kasady.
With every symbiote, the ability to spawn a new puts the former in danger, as there is a possibility of the spawn is normally more powerful than the former. Knowing this, if venom were to spawn again, carnage would be rendered useless against the newer spawn, whether it be his or venom's.
He hates Spiderman because he thinks he is the cause of all the bad luck in his life. Venom is bigger and stronger then Spiderman. His webbing is much stronger then that of of Spiderman. His weakness is Super Sonic noises such as the ringing of church bells.
The bond between the Carnage symbiote and Kasady was not as strong as the bond between Brock and the Venom symbiote. However, Cletus Kasady was also a serial killer and thought of as insane. As a result, Carnage is far more violent, powerful, and deadly than Venom.
Venom can't beat Tony Stark. The Iron Man armor is equipped with Venom's two fatal weaknesses; sonic and fire/heat attacks. Same goes for War Machine / Rhodey (James Rhodes). Venom can't beat Thor who can generate thunder and lightning so essentially again exposing Venom's two fatal weaknesses.
Venom's symbiote has explained on many occasions that the Klyntar planet is practically devoid of emotions, yet over time he knows that he forms genuine love for Eddie. Venom bonds more with Eddie and experiences guilt, jealousy, and sadness over his other half.
However, this made Eddie strictly dependent on his symbiote to live, causing his health to rapidly deteriorate if he was ever separated from Venom. Sensing Eddie's growing weakness, Venom callously abandoned him to die in search of a stronger host.
The symbiote in turn would develop a hatred for both Kraven and Miles Morales for separating it from Peter as well. Likewise, when both the symbiote and Harry reunite and bond with each other, their inner wrath and hatred allowed them to perfectly fuse together into the being known as Venom.
Since his debut however, Venom has evolved into an antiheroic figure, slowly distancing himself from his initial goal to ruin Spider-Man's life to try and do good instead, even putting aside his differences with and helping Spider-Man at times.
While we never got to see the original female version of Venom, Eddie Brock's ex Anne Weying did at one point bond with the symbiote to become She-Venom.
Most folks are familiar with the fact that the symbiote who would come to be known as Venom first bonded with Peter Parker. It got a taste of the power of Spider-Man and grew to love that power. It grew to love the feeling of the wind on its face swinging through the city. It loved the force behind every punch.
The sonic noise also harms the symbiote and causes Venom to cower away from Hulk in agony. While Venom is down, Hulk informs him that he's here to help the earthquake victims and the two heavy-weights finally see eye-to-eye and agree to work together. Leaving the Hulk as the winner of the fight.
By eating Carnage, Venom is effectively returning his spawn back to his former "unborn" state within Venom's mass, not taking anything he didn't already have into his cells.
In the Spider-Man comics, Venom is known to be weak to fire, noise, electricity, and other alien beings. However, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 just went for a simpler approach, making Venom only weak to high-frequency sounds. The game's director, Bryan Intihar, explained to IGN why fire doesn't stop the symbiote in the game.
The movie doesn't clearly state why, but Venom is probably afraid of Carnage because Carnage doesn't have the moral restrictions that Venom does. They are alien symbiotes. This means they need another living host to bond with if they're going to survive long-term.
For example: When the symbiotes take over a human body, the body convulses, twists and contorts in a visually disturbing and very scary way. When the symbiotes are in their alien form, they are terrifying, huge and monster-like creatures with glowing eyes and jagged sharp teeth.
(Venom(2020)issue#24) He fears losing his son, a fear related to his previous fear of being completely alone. He fears being left alone with his own thoughts, he fears living with no one at his side, that's why he was so dependent of the symbiote back in the day.
Extremely loud sounds (or extremely high frequency sound waves) can shock the symbiote, and even cause him to separate from his host. Spider-Man discovered this not long after meeting Venom.
In the present, he attempts to use Eddie Brock to investigate Cletus Kasady, but is seemingly killed during a battle between the Venom and Carnage symbiotes and Barrison. However, he absorbs a piece of one of the symbiotes, which later revives him and causes his eyes to glow blue.
It could be that in the universe of the Venom movies, this type of strong bond is already known among the symbiotes to result in stronger specimens. This could explain why Venom is so fearful of facing an enemy with a ruddy hue.
