Dress and act like you're older. This way, you might be able to ask to buy a ticket to an R-rated movie without the ticket seller asking to see your ID. If you're male and you're able to grow facial hair, don't shave for a couple of days before you go to see the movie so that you appear older.
Teens sneak into movies using a variety of different methods. Some create or buy fake IDs, others try to bribe the ticket box office worker (usually a school friend) while others purchase tickets for a G-rated movie, enter the theater and then sneak into the R-rated film of their choice. Often, these schemes work.
AMC Requires Adult Supervision For Guests Under 17 in R-Rated Movies. AMC policies specific to R-Rated titles include children under 6 are not allowed at R-Rated movies after 6pm at any theatre. Guests under 17 must be accompanied by a guardian who is 21 or older. Please be prepared to show ID at the theatre.
The R-rating doesn't ban children under 17 from a movie, it restricts them to watching it with a parent or guardian (and includes a recommendation that parents and guardians learn more before allowing their child to see the movie).
Can you go to jail for sneaking into an R-rated movie?
If when you say "sneak" into an "R" rated movie, you mean not paying for a ticket, yes, this can be prosecuted no different than any other theft of services. Depending on the individual and past criminal history, most likely would not result in jail time, and if so, minimal at most.

Before proceeding, please realize that movie hopping is grounds for being banned from the theater or escorted out. Very rarely you can be arrested for theft of services (similar to shoplifting). Choose a large multi-plex, something with a long hallway that has multiple theaters or even better, multiple floors.
What happens if you sneak into a movie and get caught?
Technically, it's trespassing if they want to press this to the end. You can be arrested for refusing to leave. However, many theaters will be somewhat lenient if you are not going to sold out shows and you are buying concessions.
