Leaving Cletus against an invalid Flash Thompson, the two rogues symbiotes started fighting using animals. The Avengers and Scorn managed to weak Carnage's and destroy Cletus' cybernetic legs using a sonic weapon, while a gorilla with Venom's took it back to Flash; when both of them were fighting.
This version of the symbiote was created when Cletus Kasady bit Eddie Brock's hand and absorbed part of the Venom symbiote. After saving Kasady, Carnage forms an alliance with him to kill Brock and Venom. Due to their bond being incomplete however, Carnage and Kasady are defeated, with the former being eaten by Venom.
The symbiote has been "killed" at least twice. Once mentioned above and later when Venom, in an attempt to end the threat of Carnage once and for all, ate its spawn. However, both times they have been replaced.
By eating Carnage, Venom is effectively returning his spawn back to his former "unborn" state within Venom's mass, not taking anything he didn't already have into his cells.
In spite of Carnage's brutal methods and relentless nature, the symbiote itself was still held back by the same weaknesses to extreme heat, electricity, and sonic weapons that all others of its kind suffered from. More importantly, Carnage was held back for the vast majority of its life by its need for a host.
While coming close to killing Spider-Man numerous times in battles since their initial encounter, Venom also began to act as an antihero of sorts, hunting down and often killing people it believed to be guilty, while attempting to protect those in danger.
Venom came to empathize with Eddie's status as a "loser", eventually deciding to turn on its own kind and save the Earth from being invaded. The symbiote ultimately agreed to work alongside Eddie as a vigilante, to only hurt bad people despite its own confusion of how it can tell the difference of who is good or bad.
It could be that in the universe of the Venom movies, this type of strong bond is already known among the symbiotes to result in stronger specimens. This could explain why Venom is so fearful of facing an enemy with a ruddy hue.
Personality. Carnage is a sentient being of pure evil, shown by how moments after the symbiote was born it wreaked havoc in Prison during its escape. Carnage also has a deep hatred for its father, Venom, wanting to kill him so that he could be the only symbiote on the planet and thus unstoppable.
Venom's symbiote has explained on many occasions that the Klyntar planet is practically devoid of emotions, yet over time he knows that he forms genuine love for Eddie. Venom bonds more with Eddie and experiences guilt, jealousy, and sadness over his other half.
While the Carnage symbiote was assumed to be deceased following Cletus' first defeat at the hands of Spider-Man and Venom, it survived due to its uniquely strong bond with its host - which enabled it to regenerate within Cletus' bloodstream.
In order to defeat the mad symbiote, Spidey usually has to enlist the help of his greatest allies — whether that be the Fantastic Four or his on-again-off-again ally in Venom. Spider-Man does what it takes to stop Carnage, even if it means compromising with villains like Venom.
Riot is stated by Venom to be the strongest and most brutal Symbiote. Through Venom, he had humiliated weaker symbiotes including Venom himself in combat.
Venom is portrayed by Tom Hardy in the MCU with a height of 5'9” (1.75 m) though his size is variable. The comic book height of Venom is 6'3” (1.91 m). Venom is the name for a fictional human host, most famously Eddie Brock, combined with the alien symbiote that gives him powers.
This meant that, while his symbiote could be “killed,” no death it suffered would stick so long as Kasady had some form of Carnage in his veins. Over the years, Carnage went through even more evolutions.
Whereas Venom refers to himself as “we” (“We are Venom”), Carnage refers to himself as “I” because both Cletus and the symbiote are intimately connected thanks to their shared lust for death and destruction.
Seemingly killed by the Sentry, Carnage eventually returned more powerful than ever and began harboring megalomaniacal ambitions of conquest and godhood. Cletus perished while separated from his symbiote, but a cult worshiping the symbiote god Knull bonded him to a new symbiote linked to the dark god, reanimating him.
Extremely loud sounds (or extremely high frequency sound waves) can shock the symbiote, and even cause him to separate from his host. Spider-Man discovered this not long after meeting Venom.
Anne commented on it was nice, only misinterpreted by Eddie about their kiss, but she clarified that it was about the power as Eddie suggested. Anne would also promise Eddie to not tell Dan about their mutual kiss.
In a flashback, it is revealed that she got pregnant with Eddie's child after bonding to Venom. After giving birth to their son Dylan, she left him in the care of Carl Brock, with the promise that she would return eventually. She instead committed suicide, after which Carl raised Dylan.
Since his debut however, Venom has evolved into an antiheroic figure, slowly distancing himself from his initial goal to ruin Spider-Man's life to try and do good instead, even putting aside his differences with and helping Spider-Man at times.
The Venom symbiote's animosity toward Spider-Man stems from its initial bond with him. In the comics, Spider-Man rejected the symbiote when he realized it was trying to permanently bond with him, and he removed it. This rejection left the symbiote with a strong sense of betrayal and anger.
Most folks are familiar with the fact that the symbiote who would come to be known as Venom first bonded with Peter Parker. It got a taste of the power of Spider-Man and grew to love that power. It grew to love the feeling of the wind on its face swinging through the city. It loved the force behind every punch.
Venom is destroyed, but its death is in and of itself an act of creation of the highest magnitude. As Venom's consciousness flickers out, the last thing readers see is a memory of Eddie and the other people Venom loved enough to destroy itself to ensure their preservation.
