Grogu successfully escaped from the Jedi temple with the help of Jedi Master Kelleran Beq who evacuated him from the burning building aboard a BARC speeder.
After ably deflecting the bolts from the clone troopers, Beq took off on the speeder through the skies of nighttime Coruscant with Grogu by his side. Still chased by the clones, he avoided their attack, and, with the help of some Senate guards, he and Grogu boarded a ship and escaped via lightspeed.
A simple answer is that Grogu is one of the Jedi younglings, and it is likely protecting the younger members of the Jedi Order was of high priority for the senior members when the attack on the Jedi Temple commenced (especially the Dean).
While fans don't know the state of Grogu's well-being in the sequel trilogy, his ties to Mandalore might explain why Kylo Ren doesn't kill him. It's likely Grogu stays with Din Djarin and the Mandalorians, and never returns to embark on his training with Luke.
It was believed that Grogu would eventually become a victim of Kylo Ren's destruction of Luke's Jedi Order. However, The Book of Boba Fett revealed that Grogu chose to follow the Way of the Mandalorian rather than become a Jedi, sparing him from Kylo Ren's wrath.
Is Grogu Yoda? According to the events of "The Mandalorian" so far, Grogu and Yoda are not the same character. They are simply from the same species. The name of this species has never been revealed since "Star Wars" creator George Lucas wanted to give Yoda a sense of mystery.
Luke Skywalker eventually had the lightsaber in his possession after Yoda's death in 4 ABY. Five years later, he offered the weapon to Grogu in a choice against obtaining beskar armor. However, Grogu chose the beskar armor over the lightsaber and went back to Din Djarin.
Yoda could also be a suspect in Grogu's rescue and would make for a compelling character to link to. Like Obi-Wan Kenobi, he returned to the temple in the aftermath of Order 66. Yoda sent Obi-Wan Kenobi from the temple to find Anakin Skywalker.

While we know the simple answer is that Grogu hadn't been created yet when The Force Awakens kicked off the third Star Wars trilogy in 2015, it's an interesting question from an in-universe perspective, and one THR recently asked The Mandalorian executive producer Dave Filoni.

Grogu's mother is either Yaddle or some other female member of Yoda's species, but he has no father. Because just like Anakin, Grogu was born off the Will of the Force, with no dad, and that explains why he's so powerful at an age that's considered an infant for Yoda's species.
Since Mace Windu would have to be canonically resurrected before saving Grogu, another popular theory was that Anakin Skywalker spared Grogu during his rampage at the Temple. As far as this theory is concerned, the only part that made sense was that Anakin was at the Temple at the same time as Grogu.
As depicted in "Chapter 20: The Foundling," Grogu was rescued from the attack on the Jedi Temple by Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. Beq completed the daring escape that got Grogu to safety, then escaped the attack with his life.
Coupled with the fact that the only other members of his species to have been seen in Star Wars canon were also especially powerful Jedi, this may begin to explain Grogu's true significance. Grogu may be the child of Yoda and Yaddle, potentially conceived purely to help preserve their incredibly rare species.
Following Yoda and Sidious' duel, Yoda's lightsaber was recovered by the Empire. In the Darth Vader comics, we see Mas Ammeda incinerate it along with other Jedi's lightsabers. Luke Skywalker kept Yoda's lightsaber after he left it on Degobah after he died.
History. Like many Jedi did for hundreds of years, Yoda built his lightsaber under the aegis of Professor Huyang, an architect droid who had been with the Jedi Order since its nascent days. As a first step, Yoda acquired a kyber crystal from the icy caverns of Ilum, a mission that proved to be very eventful.
Some fans even hypothesized that Grogu literally was a "Baby Yoda" and represented a reincarnated form of the Jedi Master. This is impossible due to Grogu having already been born when Yoda was still alive. Thus, while the Mandalorian is Grogu's adoptive father, his actual parents remain a mystery.
Given the rarity of his species in the galaxy, along with the fact that the only other two known members of Grogu's species were both living in the Temple when he was born, it seems likely that Grogu is the child of Yoda and Yaddle and was born to help preserve their rare species.
Given that Grogu, Yoda, and Yaddle are the only known canon members of their species, it makes sense why some would try to draw a connection between the three of them. While Star Wars hasn't disproved the theory, it's highly unlikely that Yoda or Yaddle were Grogu's biological parents.
