Instead, Jason was kidnapped and beaten to death with a crowbar. Despite Batman's efforts, he's seconds too late to get to the scene, Jason being killed in an explosion of the warehouse following his torture by the Joker. Batman held Jason's dying body, watching his life slowly fade away.
The Joker beats Jason with a crowbar and restrains him and Sheila in the warehouse with a time bomb. Jason throws himself on the bomb to protect Sheila as the warehouse explodes. Batman arrives too late to save them, and Jason and Sheila die from their injuries.
In the issue, after hunting Joker across Gotham City, Jason confronts him in Gotham General Hospital, but he is unable to kill the villain being that Joker has a hostage held at gunpoint.
In Joker: Last Laugh Vol 1 6, Nightwing did kill Joker for Jason, Tim, and for all the death Joker have cause when he thought Tim Drake is killed by Joker (obviously Tim is not dead):
After the death of his sidekick, Batman set out to kill Joker and was only stopped by Superman. However, the Man of Steel understood Bruce Wayne's pain more than fans ever guessed. Readers see the heartbreaking link Superman has to Jason Todd's death in Mark Waid and Dan Mora's Batman/Superman: World's Finest #11.
Though he never voiced it, Batman did privately admit that he didn't go searching for Jason because he was afraid of what he would find. He knew Jason was killing people, and Batman couldn't live with the shame of knowing that he had unintentionally created a deadlier version of Joe Chill.

Bruce caught Jason nabbing his tires when he was 12. By 13, Jason was running around as Robin II. When he died, it said on his death certificate that he was 15 (and still undersized from his time living on the street).
After Batman finds proof that the Joker is the one who killed Jason, he finally attempts to kill the Joker once and for all. As the helicopter they're on starts to go down, Batman jumps out to save his own life, leaving Joker behind to die.

The crowning acheivement was having vultures devour the Caped Crusader. Unfortunately, Joker was eroding the fabric of space and time with his antics.
Background. Robin was the protégé of Batman and aided him in combating crime in Gotham City. However, at some point before the Battle of Metropolis, the young vigilante was captured and later killed by the Joker, with the aid of his girlfriend Harley Quinn.
Pamela Voorhees is the overarching antagonist of the Friday the 13th franchise. She was known simply as Mrs. Voorhees, the mother of Jason Voorhees, who drowned to death as a child, which drove her to murder those who she deemed responsible. She was also the archenemy of Alice Hardy.
Apparently, after Jason's initial death from drowning, his mother found a book that could resurrect him. Thus, when he came back, he had otherworldly, super-powered abilities.
As an adult, he never speaks, though perhaps this is because we've never witnessed interactions with someone he trusts. The reason it's a “maybe” check is because selective mutism can also be a response to trauma, which Jason most certainly experienced after witnessing the death of his mother.
Ironically, Bruce Wayne, the one person who truly loved Jason instead of manipulating him, was the one person whom Jason hated for the most of his life. Eventually, though, Jason and his surrogate father managed to return to talking terms, even forming a bond with one another similar to that which they used to have.
Jason's death and the events around it were so traumatic that Nightwing, when he was infected with fear toxin, one of the central themes of his nightmare was Jason's death as shown in Nightwing #10. Thankfully after Jason's revival, he and Nightwing have gotten the chance to foster an actual brotherly friendship.
Jason has long resented Batman for refusing to kill the Joker, believing he chose the villain's life over his. However, the pair's relationship has somewhat repaired over time, as Red Hood even adopted his former mentor's no-kill rule while rejoining the Bat-Family.
In reality though, the Joker has him locked up in an abandoned wing of Arkham Asylum and proceeds to further torture him for about a year - warping his mind and making him believe that Batman just simply didn't care about him, abandoned him, and quickly replaced him with Tim Drake (Todd doesn't know that Batman thinks ...
What if Jason Todd had never died? Batman wouldn't have become as dark and depressed after and Tim probably wouldn't have tried to become Robin immediately, although he probably would have figured out Bruce's identity. Jason, however, did have an anger problem which possibly led to the death of Felipe Garzonas.
While he had finally forgiven Batman and dedicated his life to once again protect the innocent in Gotham City, Jason's continued willingness to kill criminals would forever be a delicate aspect in his otherwise repaired relationship with his mentor.
