At the end of the film, her hair is cut off, leaving it in a dark brown-colored pixie cut and initially unable to heal Flynn in its hair form. However, even in the end, the flower is unwilling to let him die and restores him to life with a tear.
A dying Flynn protests the deal, and cuts off Rapunzel's hair with a shard of glass when she tries to heal him. Gothel withers and disappears when the hair is cut, and Flynn dies, but Rapunzel's tears contain enough magic to revive him.

The saddest part of the film is when Flynn dies. He tells Rapunzel that she was her new dream and because he cut Rapunzel's hair, she can't heal him. It's really sad and bleak, but thankfully Rapunzel still has power through her tears, and when a teardrop land on him it heals him and brings him back.

How does Mother Gothel hurt Flynn?
Gothel fatally stabs Flynn upon his arrival and attempts to leave with Rapunzel, who offers to go willingly with her if she can heal Flynn. Gothel reluctantly releases her. However, Flynn unexpectedly cuts Rapunzel's hair, causing it to lose its magic and turn brown.
Gothel wasn't a good parent and was capable of awful things. She was selfish, cunning, and smart, which made her a great Disney villain. Audiences know that Gothel is bad news, but in certain ways, she's still an underrated Disney villain.
