Though the original Miles Quaritch was indeed killed by Neytiri at the end of the first film, his superiors uploaded a record of his memories and consciousness into a cloned Avatar body. This essentially allows him to escape death, even if it is in a less-than-human form.
During the battle, Quaritch is killed by Sully's Na'vi lover Neytiri. A copy of his consciousness is subsequently transferred by the RDA into a genetically grown Na'vi body, known as a Recombinant, which returns to Pandora to track down Sully alongside other Recombinants.
Before the death of his human body, 2 hours before Quaritch was on a mission to fight the Na'vi stronghold, his memories were backed up using a device known as a Soul Drive. A Recom body for Quaritch was engineered on Earth and was sent to Pandora in an amnio tank in the ISV Vindicator.
Cameron also said that Spider would serve as "the pivot point in between Quaritch and Jake." This could mean that Spider holds the key to Quaritch's redemption which could stop the endless blood feud between him and Jack.

Since the comic takes place 14 years after the first film, Spider's origins are told through flashbacks. In the Avatar comics, it's revealed that Spider was born to Quaritch and an RDA pilot named Paz Sorroco while living on an RDA base.

Augustine's colleague Norm Spellman (Joel David Moore) was the father and Grace conceived Kiri before the end of Avatar before somehow giving birth in her Avatar body. However, the more interesting theory is that Kiri is literally the child of Eywa due to some sort of immaculate conception.
The Soul Tree is the heart of Eywa, the goddess that guides all of Pandora. Avatar: The Way of Water illustrates that Kiri has a special connection to Eywa, which means she can wield powers and feel her more deeply than other Na'vi.

It has been confirmed through Avatar comics that Spider's mother is Paz Socorro. While Avatar: The Way of Water takes place a decade after the first movie, James Cameron's original sequel script did not have as big of a time jump.
Many cast members from the first two movies are slated to return, including Sam Worthington (Jake Sully), Zoe Saldaña (Neytiri), Sigourney Weaver (Dr. Grace Augustine), Joel David Moore (Norm Spellman), Jack Champion (Javier 'Spider' Socorro), Stephen Lang (Colonel Miles Quaritch) and Britain Dalton (Lo'ak).
In the film's closing scene, the Na'vi transfer Jake into the avatar body permanently, eradicating his disability and neatly delivering him from his original role as a white colonizer.
Who is Spider in Avatar 2? Spider is played by Jack Champion. Not only is he a child of the humans who stayed on Pandora after the initial eviction of the RDA at the end of Avatar, but he's Quaritch's son.

Spider was shown to have grown a strong bond with Kiri, with many speculating that there could be a potential future romance between the pair, while his tumultuous relationship with Neytiri came to a dramatic head in the final moments of The Way of Water's climactic battle.
Having been raised by the Omatikaya clan as well as the few humans who stayed on Pandora after the events of the first Avatar film, Spider is Na'vi in everything but his physical form.
The relationship between Neytiri and Spider was developed well enough to justify what occurs in the third act of the film - this scene being where Neytiri has Spider by the throat with a knife in an effort to convince Quaritch to relinquish Kiri.
Avatar's prequel comic, Avatar: The High Ground, revealed that Paz Socorro is Spider's mom, a Scorpion pilot for the Resources Development Audition (RDA).
The seizure is believed to have been caused by frontal lobe epilepsy which could also cause the other symptoms Kiri has been having, including visions and the belief that she's hearing Eywa. However, the Metkayina clan believe it's down to something more spiritual and is a result of Kiri's connection to Eywa.
