Plot. Kevin Wendell Crumb, a man diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder (DID) rooted in his history of childhood abuse and abandonment, has been managing living with his 23 distinct identities ("alters") well for several years with help from his therapist, Dr. Karen Fletcher.
Kevin suffers from DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder), resulting in the creation of twenty-three additional personalities. According to the movie, these twenty-three personalities sits in a room, waiting for their turn “in the light”.
Kevin's more evil personalities, “Dennis” and “Patricia” are awaiting the arrival of “The Beast” which is Kevin's 24th personality and is an animal-like killer who seeks to rid the world of the “impure,” which are those who have not suffered.

They are: Heinrich, Mary Reynolds, Norma, Goddard, Bernice, Polly, Luke, Rakel, Felicia, Ansel, Jelin, Kat, B.T, Samuel, Ian and Mr. Pritchard. However, we do not actually meet any of them during Split.

3.4. 1 The Id Based on the split movie, it is shown that Kevin is someone who suffers from multiple identity disorder due to a traumatic experience he experienced when he was three years old. It turned out that the traumatic experience came from the closest person, namely his mother.
Introduced in Split, Kevin Wendell Crumb's traumatic origins and the subsequent Dissociative Identity Disorder it caused set up his eventual transformation into the fearsome Beast.

All of this culminates at the ending of Split, with Kevin's 24th personality, The Beast, emerging and granting him almost supernatural strength and speed.
Split is real enough. The bad guy is a real person with a real disorder portrayed, for the most part, in a very realistic way. For full fright effect, a thriller must go beyond the real into that which is unthinkable outside of the movie theatre. Split achieves the real and the beyond-the-real.
Generally speaking, Split got a lot of Dissociative Identity Disorder correct: the distinct personality states, the recurrent gaps in recall, and the childhood trauma. Unfortunately, the movie stretched itself a little too far when it changed the entire biological makeup of Kevin to turn him into The Beast.
Kevin keeps the girls in an abandoned basement where his numerous identities are revealed to them. Towards the end of the movie, the final identity Kevin takes on is a vicious beast that climbs walls, deflects bullets, and ultimately kills two of the abducted girls with his bare hands.
When it's revealed Kevin's father, Clarence Crumb, was on the same train as David Dunn, we briefly see him look at a brochure for dissociative identity disorder (DID). It looked like he was on his way somewhere to receive treatment.
This happiness came to an end when her uncle molested her while they were on a hunting trip together, leaving Casey traumatized. To make matters worse, Casey's uncle, John was the only legal guardian to take care of her after her father passed away.
The abuse continued for years, as John became Casey's legal guardian after her father passed away. It's abundantly clear the nature of Casey's long-term abuse evolved into more physical domestic violence, as The Beast soon notices that Casey is covered in scars and bruises.
Jeni Haynes wasn't born with multiple personalities, but instead developed them throughout her childhood as she experienced extreme and repeated torture at the hands of her father, Richard Haynes.
How Strong The Beast Is. The Beast is Kevin Wendell Crumb's 24th personality, and he boasts strength and abilities the others simply don't possess. In Split and Glass, the Beast proves he's capable of flipping cars and scaling walls with nothing but his own physical strength.
Kevin's mother failed to protect him from abuse and neglect, either due to her own damaged state or her lack of interest in fulfilling her role as a caregiver [1]. Her abusive behavior and neglectful actions contributed to Kevin's trauma and likely exacerbated his psychological struggles.
5. Hedwig. The naive, nine-year-old child who can take control of Kevin's body whenever he wants. Hedwig befriends Casey while she's captured by Dennis in "Split" and he divulges that he's a big Kanye West fan along with a dancer.
Glass is a 2019 superhero film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, who also produced with Jason Blum, Marc Bienstock, and Ashwin Rajan. The film is a crossover and sequel to Shyamalan's previous films Unbreakable (2000) and Split (2016) and the third and final installment in the Unbreakable trilogy.
