There are six films in the Scream franchise so far with but 13 Ghostface killers altogether. Aside from Scream 3, each entry had two killers that worked together to terrorize Sidney and murder everyone around her. As such, it can be messy trying to figure out who kills who in each film.
Prior to Scream VI, fans have witnessed nine different Ghostfaces throughout the franchise's run. So, let's head back to 1996 Woodsboro and look behind every Ghostface mask that's haunted Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) thus far.
Not only was Roman revealed to be the Scream 3 killer, but he was also the mastermind behind the previous two movies. Roman was the son of Maureen Prescott, but she wanted nothing to do with him.

Unfortunately for Scream franchise fans that may want to see Stu Macher make a comeback, Scream 6 has fairly definitively laid the theories to rest by confirming his death. There is a lingering shot in the film that shows Stu Macher's photo and confirms that he died in 1996.
Ghostface was not a supernatural demon like Freddy Krueger or an unkillable bogeyman like Michael Myers — he was just a guy (or really, two guys) in a costume. Scream was a slasher, but it was also a whodunit.
