Scream 3 is the first and so far the only film in the franchise to only have one killer in the movie, if you don't believe the theory that Angelina is the second killer).
Billy reveals that it was he and Stu who raped and murdered Maureen and framed Cotton for it. In Scream 3, the current Ghostface uses Maureen's synthesized voice and image to taunt Sidney and lure her out of hiding. Casey and Steve murders: Both there in costume, Billy called, and was the GF who Casey hit with the phone. Stu killed Steve and Casey, and both hung her from a tree. Stu was also the first GF Casey sees running through the house, who threw the chair through the window.
Scream 3's poor reviews stemmed from a consensus that the plot was convoluted while relying too heavily on typical horror clichés. Roman is the only killer to be killed by Dewey, who shot him in the head after being told to do so by Sidney. He is the only Ghostface to have no partners and to kill on his own.
