Strays is the most vulgar movie I've seen in a long time. There's a lot of profanity here, enough that my tallies should probably be considered rough estimates. The f-word is used at least 180 times, including about 15 instances that are preceded by “mother.” The s-word is heard 80 times.
That's because it bleeps out all of the bad language — and there's a lot of bleeping language here! So this tells you exactly what to expect from STRAYS. This looks like a vulgar and funny movie with a huge heart.

Make no mistake, parents: This talking-dog movie is for the grownups. Strays, which opens in theaters on Friday, is not geared to children despite its cuddly stars. Billed as a "subversion of the dog movies we know and love," the comedy is rated R for "pervasive language, crude and sexual content, and drug use."

“Strays” is definitely a treat, especially for dog lovers who will howl with laughter and also cry at its empathetic understanding that we all, furry or otherwise, just want to be loved.
I would not classify it anywhere close to horror unless you accept the hallucinations of the main character and her possible "mental illness" as real. The Strays really is an attempt at social commentary by way of revenge fantasy (a la Quentin Tarantino).
