When the Dowager Empress receives the news that they have been put to death, she believes she has lost her entire family.
In reality, she is likely 4 or 5 years old, as she pretended to be 6 after reading Loid's mind and realizing he needed a 6-year-old child. Loid, being supernaturally astute, had initially estimated her age to be younger than six.
Dimitri is based on a Prince who strongly believed that Anna Anderson, the woman who claimed to be Anastasia who had survived the execution, was in fact the real Anastasia.

The animation is beautiful and so is the music. Rasputin is scary and strange, but I was as squeamish as it gets and it didn't make me hate the movie. I think this is a great one for both boys and girls alike, as I said, it is an adventure movie for all audiences.
