NO, it is not as scary as "Smile" or recent movie "the barbarian" and it's not as scary as"IT" in my opinion. It's very light jumps-scares and the gore/blood is VERY minimal. Finally, wanted to throw in I took my best friend who HATES horror movies and he said it was the funniest thing he has ever seen.

With that said, there are still some horror fans who would've preferred to see M3GAN in all of its R-rated glory before the cuts trimmed it down to a PG-13 rating. Akela Cooper, who co-wrote the script based on a story co-written with Wan, also falls into this category.
