Mandy Moore and Claire Holt give good performances and it gets straight to the cage diving. However, its brought down by its boring pace and being almost entirely reliant on jump scares which aren't scary.It's also brought down by a terrible twist ending.
But on its own B-movie terms 47 Meters Down works just fine, not wearing out its welcome thanks to its quick set-up, rapid pacing and brief running time. Content collapsed.

At 47 meters down, a diver would have limited time as the air they breathe is equalized to the pressure at that depth. Every 10m the volume is divided (10m = 1/2, 20m = 1/3, 30m = 1/4, etc.). So 10m below the surface a diver breathes 2x the volume of air.
It doesn't try to introduce compelling characters, the shark sequences fall flat for the most part, and the screenplay is filled with laughable plot points.
