Avatar 5 (2031) A fifth and final film has been announced and is scheduled for December 19, 2031. Jon Landau has stated that part of Avatar 5 will take place on Earth, with Neytiri visiting the planet.
In June 2023, Disney revealed that the release schedule for all three upcoming Avatar movies would be shifting, starting with Avatar 3 moving by one year from December 2024 to December 2025. Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 have both moved by three years, meaning the series will be continuing until 2031.

While Avatar 3 will certainly be a visual marvel, Cameron revealed to GQ that the third film will focus on character over spectacle. “The big [creative] advance in this movie is just going to be greater character depth.
The franchise's third installment is expected to hit theaters in 2025, with Avatar 4 following in 2029 and Avatar 5 in 2031, and that may not be the end of the story. While talking to PEOPLE in February 2024, Cameron said that he already has ideas for even more films in the franchise.

Neteyam was only 15 years old when he died during the climax of Avatar 2. He and his younger, more reckless brother Lo'ak were determined to save their symbolic brother Spider, the biological son of the antagonist Miles Quaritch.
Having been raised by the Omatikaya clan as well as the few humans who stayed on Pandora after the events of the first Avatar film, Spider is Na'vi in everything but his physical form.
It was only when Lo'ak insisted that Neteyam agreed to the rescue. Neteyam risked his life and perished in order to save Lo'ak and Spider from Quaritch. As Jake himself said: "A son for a son". Spider wept for Neteyam as he died as well.
According to the director, 'Avatar 3' has only two percent or three percent of scenes left in the studio and that they barely have to shoot live-action scenes, as most of them have already been filmed.
In the Q&A with Jon Landau, the producer revealed that Avatar 3 will introduce two new Na'vi cultures. Landau explained, "We're going to meet at least two new clans in the next movie," Landau said. Likely one of these new cultures will be the fire Na'vi, of which Oona Chaplin's Varang will be a part.
