While the violence is exaggerated and closer in tone to cartoon jeopardy than real danger, some kids will no doubt find it tense. Several scenes show Marty's discomfort when the girl who will eventually be his mother tries to kiss and embrace him.
Is Back to the Future appropriate for a 7 year old?
I think that this movie can be seen by younger kids under 8, but if you have someone around the 9-12 age range who isn't mature, this movie probably isn't for them.

I would recommend Back to the Future Part III to almost anyone. Rated PG, it is appropriate and engaging for all ages. Fans of the trilogy have to see it, as it wraps up all of our favorite's story lines. Anyone who believes in the power of love, time, and destiny will feel empowered by the message.
Despite its horror elements, "This" ultimately delivers a positive and uplifting message that's suitable for viewers 12 and up! It's a film that shows that even in the darkest of times, there's always hope, and that by working together and supporting one another, we can overcome even the most daunting of challenges.
Around ages 12-15, people often start having their first kiss. Don't feel pressured by other people your age kissing people, and don't rush into kissing someone if you are apprehensive. You'll know intuitively when the time feels right.

Parents need to know that this final installment in the Back to the Future trilogy is, like its predecessors, a PG film with a tad more language than usual. But there's actually slightly less innuendo and a lot less bully-related violence in this one than in Part II.

Our 10 year old loved Back to the Future, as did the adults. It's not a game changer (although has fabulous special effects) but it is very entertaining.

Back to the Future is true to the words of “fun for all ages”. I could see showing this as early as five years old but I think around seven or eight would be more appropriate. There are a few naughty words that are articulated a time or two. More so I could see the plot elements going over the head of a five year old.
