“There was a lot of crying in that film.” This was the first thing my friend said to me when we left the cinema after seeing Barbie. And she was right. Greta Gerwig's film is, on the surface, a work of endlessly giddy fun – an effervescent, colourful tapestry of joyous girl power and knowing self-referential jibes.
It is a compilation of many beautiful aspects of life as a woman, and it's touching that Barbie wants to carve out her own path in a similar vein. But I think the more extraordinary realization — the one that was behind my tears — was that Barbie came to the real world, saw so many of its flaws and loved it anyway.

By advocating for women's rights, Christians can contribute to a more compassionate and just world. A world where women's voices are heard, talents are valued, and the Church's mission of love and hope is extended to all, regardless of gender. This is one more reason that Christians should see the new Barbie movie.
