CORALINE is an exceptional movie and I really have to admire the folks who made it. However, I should point out that this is NOT a movie for younger viewers because the movie is basically like walking into a nightmare. I think I'd be very hesitant to take a child younger than 10 to see it--it is that dark and scary.

SO, I did some research on some mental issues, and the one most outstanding to Coraline's experience, was schizophrenia. At first, I was thinking,'This is too common to be true. ' But, as it turns out, all of her experience point to schizophrenia.

This is NOT a movie appropriate for any 9 year old unless you want them growing up to be a murderer. The beginning of the movie is boring and slow. She meets a boy who finds a doll that looks exactly like Coraline and gives it to her.
