For them, Edward is a monster, but for us, Edward was the only good character - he was an innocent; the neighbourhood mob mentality was the true monster. If only they had accepted Edward for who he was instead of trying to change him into one of their own.

Kim confesses her love for Edward and shares a kiss with him as they say goodbye. Returning downstairs, Kim lies to the townspeople saying that Edward and Jim fought each other to the death. She tells them that the roof caved in on them and shows them a disembodied scissor-hand similar to that of Edward's.

It's the epic Titanic sinking scene that may make this movie too intense for younger kids. Throughout the mass chaos, people fight to save themselves ahead of others, plunge to watery deaths, and, in some cases, even die by suicide.
Edward Scissorhands is mostly a silent character throughout the movie, but it's understandable as he spent years at the mansion all alone, and as he shared more time with other people and lived different experiences, he started opening up more and more, though ultimately, he went back to solitude at the mansion.
