Frozen II is undeniably feminist. The sisters had to navigate a man's world in the first film, but the second takes place in a world completely run by women. All of the leaders—from Elsa to Anna to the head of the Northuldra—are female.

Among the main criticisms of Frozen 2 are that a lot of the introduction feels like it's moving the characterization backward, it doesn't hit the emotional depths of the first, and while the story is ambitious, it doesn't quite work in execution.
Elsa takes on the burden of hiding her powers from everyone, including her sister, to protect them and after their reveal she takes to the wilderness in self imposed exile using her unique powers to create her own winter-y kingdom.
Elsa's storyline – accidentally hurting her sister, and being sent away for it – is instantly recognisable on a domestic level to any child banished to their room for fighting with a sibling, which may be why Frozen appeals to both sexes. But crucially, whatever Elsa does, Anna's love never falters.

Honeymaren, a member of the Northuldra tribe who was trapped in the Enchanted Forest by the curse, could return for Frozen 3 as Elsa's girlfriend based on the two characters' shared chemistry.
Kristen Bell (Anna) said simply, "that's up to Elsa." Jonathan Groff, who voices Kristoff, said, “I love that Elsa, unlike any other princess, is not defined by any kind of romantic relationship—that she's just an independent woman."

For example: Anna and Elsa find the wreckage of their parents' ship and Elsa magically uses the memory of the water the ship contains to reveal what happened.
Children respond to stories that employ magical realism, so Elsa—as a superhero with what one of our daughters (Maryam's) and her friends call “ice powers” (the ability to create a whole castle of snow and ice using only her fingers)—has special appeal.
Parents need to know that Frozen is a Disney animated musical that's likely to appeal to families with children of all ages.
