That new life does see him travel the world still, but with an added twist. Now that he is just a regular human, Genie asks Jasmine's handmaid Dalia (Nasim Pedrad) to be his wife, following half a movie's worth of flirting.
Additionally, in this version, the Genie states clearly that his power comes from the lamp as well as himself, with the result that he becomes human when freed from the lamp.
Semi-Phenomenal, Nearly Cosmic Power: After getting his freedom, Genie stated that he had suffered a reduction in power due to his new freedom, describing his current powers as now being "semi-phenomenal, nearly cosmic power" as opposed to his previous "phenomenal cosmic power".
At the end, Aladdin frees Genie using his only real wish. But while Aladdin doesn't actually get his other two wishes, things between him and Jasmine still work out. That means, like most Disney movies, Aladdin concludes with a happy ending, even if the theory was accurate and the protagonist got swindled.

What happened to Genie from Aladdin?
It can be assumed, then, that after the end of Aladdin, Genie is free, no longer bound by the constraints of living in a lamp and serving different masters, but he's not human. He settles with Aladdin, Jasmine, Abu, and Rajah in the Sultan's palace.

Final Verdict. With everything we have to go off of, Aladdin is set in the 15th century in the Ottoman Empire. With Agrabah seemingly being in a desert, I initially set this movie in 1521 after the conquest of Cairo and the areas of Arabia that bordered the Red Sea.
