Hive eventually left HYDRA to seemingly perish in the military campaign led by Brigadier General Glenn Talbot, before Hive himself was killed by Lincoln Campbell, severing the final major head of HYDRA. Loyal to its oath, HYDRA survived even that defeat.
Hydra was all but stamped out after the events of The Winter Soldier but, if there is one thing that the organization is known for, it's coming back when they seemed defeated for good. Zola was instrumental in Hydra's infiltration of SHIELD and could yet be responsible for its return post-Endgame.
There is no terrorist organization more malevolent, nor influential, than Hydra. Having some of the most evil villains in history among its ranks, Hydra has been wreaking havoc around the globe since World War II. To combat this threat, S.H.I.E.L.D. rose up as its equal, but opposing, organization.
After HYDRA's existence was revealed, the War on HYDRA began, as the Avengers and the reformed S.H.I.E.L.D. fought to dismantle HYDRA. In 2016, the United States Armed Forces seemingly destroyed HYDRA, although several high-ranking members survived the attack and went underground.

Could Hydra have stopped Thanos?
Instead, the only weapon HYDRA would have against the Thanos invasion would be enhanced ones like Wanda and Pietro, which HYDRA would have continued to experiment with. Essentially, HYDRA would have its own Avengers team made up of enhanced and super-soldier variations.
Secret Invasion. After the events of "Secret Invasion", Nick Fury discovered that S.H.I.E.L.D. is under the control of Hydra, and apparently had been from the beginning.
The Hydra experimentation on Barnes causes him to survive his fall, and he is recaptured by the Hydra wing of the Soviet Union, where he is tortured and brainwashed by Arnim Zola and turned into the Winter Soldier, a mind-controlled super soldier with a metal prosthetic arm.
Red Skull was cursed to become the guardian of the Soul Stone for over seven decades, rendering him unable to leave the planet throughout these years, only able to advise those who came onto the planet seeking the Soul Stone.
After its defeat at the hands of Captain America in 1945 and the subsequent disappearance of Johann Schmidt, HYDRA was secretly rebuilt inside S.H.I.E.L.D. by Schmidt's top scientist Arnim Zola, who was recruited into the agency during Operation Paperclip and also formed an alliance with the Soviet Union.
Soon after Steve Rogers is appointed the new director of S.H.I.E.L.D., however during the Secret Empire story line we learn that Steve Rogers was replaced with a Hydra sleeper agent who uses the S.H.I.E.L.D. Act to become dictator of the United States. After he is defeated, S.H.I.E.L.D. is once again disbanded.
Hydra are virtually immortal in a lab environment. Their unique abilities make them ideal for studies in healing and aging. Hydra regeneration was noted in 1744 by naturalist Abraham Trembley. Almost three centuries later, this animal's amazing capabilities remain a mystery.
Wanda Maximoff is a character primarily portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) media franchise based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Wanda is initially depicted as a Sokovian refugee who, along with her twin brother Pietro, volunteers to be experimented on by Hydra.
In 2016, Captain America brought comic books to the forefront of national discussion with a single phrase: “Hail Hydra.” These two words proclaimed Captain America's allegiance to Hydra, one of Marvel Comics most recognizable villains which has historically been used as an allegory for the Nazi Party.
In this way reality was changed into one where Hydra didn't win WWII, and Steve Rogers never served Hydra. While genuinely fighting alongside the Allies, Captain America would become frozen in ice, and was awakened in the 21st Century by the superhero team known as the Avengers, subsequently joining their ranks.
Thanos would dominate the Red Skull in just about every scenario. While Johann Schmidt may have the advantage in a scenario where he has a Cosmic Cube or Kobik and Thanos has nothing to counter it, even then Thanos would likely find a way to win the day.

Disbelieving, Gamora could not comprehend that Thanos ever showed genuine love for her.
While it has never been confirmed what Thanos' sword was made of, the Endgame battle hints that it was made of Uru or at least some metal that was as strong as the one from Nidavellir. Thanos was facing, at the same time, Mjolnir, Stormbreaker, Captain American's Vibranium Shield, and Stark's nanotech.
Bucky Barnes, like Steve Rogers, has lived for several decades due to cryogenic freezing and the super-soldier serum. Bucky's life expectancy could potentially surpass Steve's 116 years, depending on circumstances. Despite outwardly aging at the same rate as Steve, Bucky can still live for at least another 80 years.
Bucky was captured by Hydra in 1945, received experimentation with a variant of the Super-Soldier Serum, was brainwashed, and was implanted with a metal arm made of titanium to replace the left arm that was amputated when he fell from a train and plummeted nearly to his death.
The fact that Bucky did wear the arm is why it disappeared according to the Russo brothers (via Comicbook), as they stated anything that was part of someone's identity would disappear when snapped.
It's safe to say that without Operation Paperclip and the SSR's involvement in inviting Hydra scientists into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s organization, S.H.I.E.L.D. likely would not have been able to secure as much power as it did. The fallout from Pierce's attempt at protecting Hydra led to the ultimate downfall of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Once again, the tentacles on the logo have a lot of meaning. They were inspired by the Inhumans' true form and the spaces between them resemble gears but they also remind the viewer of Hydra's heads. Just think about it: Hydra has long necks and heads sitting at their tips.
