The second and final season of the American streaming television series Luke Cage, which is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, sees Luke Cage become a hero and celebrity in Harlem after clearing his name, only to face a new threat.
Cheo Hodari Coker revealed what the episode titles for Luke Cage Season 3 would have been. Luke Cage was canceled years ago after two seasons, but the showrunner recently released a list of unused episode titles for what would have been season 3.
The pink slipping of Luke Cage was ultimately a combo of the age old Hollywood “creative differences” and the inability for the parties involved to reach a deal on how to move forward, according to sources.
Following creative differences during the development of a third season, Netflix cancelled Luke Cage on October 19, 2018; all of the Marvel Netflix series were removed from Netflix on March 1, 2022, after Disney regained the license for them.
“Marvel's Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix. Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners,” read the company's joint statement with Marvel Television.
The rumors are true. Marvel announced this afternoon that Mike Colter will play Luke Cage, known also as Power Man, for its upcoming Netflix series. However Colter won't be starring in the mooted solo Luke Cage series, at least not yet.

While Deadpool 2's Juggernaut was doubtlessly powerful, the original version is an unstoppable force of nature. While all of Netflix's Marvel series were branded as “Netflix Originals” to consumers, the shows were licensed out to the streaming giant from Disney. Netflix's licensing deal for the series has ended. Netflix's run of Marvel originals got its start with the launch of “Daredevil” in April 2015.
