Minos is the faceless corporation that designs deadly escape rooms for the entertainment of their gambling clients. Each of their rooms has a series of cameras watching the players, and presumably, both the game master and gamblers can watch the action unfold.
You'll be relieved to know that the series isn't inspired by any real-life similar events, as there's been no game show in which contestants have been forced to compete in a series of deadly games.
Minos Escape Rooms was founded at an unknown point in the recent past, made to replicate the thrills and entertainment of ancient gladiatorial combat for a modern audience.
Ben turns out to be alive but is trapped in a room that will fill with water unless Zoey agrees to be the new puzzle master. She refuses, and water begins to fill the room.
Zoey and Ben actually survive the ordeal, but it doesn't end there. Zoey returns to the site with the police, but there's nothing there. There are no remains of the rooms. She only stares at the wall where a graffiti drawing reads "No Way Out," and she associates the phrase with one of the escape rooms.

How Escape Rooms Got Their Start. The first modern escape room was created by a publishing company called SCRAP in Kyoto, Japan in July 2007. Not only does the Escape Room 2 alternate ending reduce the near-supernatural omnipotence of Minos effectively by making the movie more about Claire, but it also very directly sets up the antagonist for Escape Room 3.
Zoey makes it out unscathed, but at the end of the puzzle, she encounters someone surprising: Amanda (Deborah Ann Woll), the war veteran who appeared to fall to her death in the first film. As Amanda points out, we never actually saw her die.
However, despite the fact that it never existed, the Cretan Labyrinth will no doubt maintain its role as a place of fear and dread, wonder and enlightenment – as a reference in popular culture from Disney to Coke, featuring the Minotaur and his lair.
When Minos withholds the sacred bull his wife become bestial, bringing scandal upon him. By killing Scylla, who betrayed her father and home for him, Minos seems to call down the betrayal of his own daughter, Ariadne, upon himself, not to mention her abandonment by Theseus.
Minos was such a good judge and ruler that after his death, he was granted by the gods to become one of three judges of the dead in the underworld. However, other stories also show that Minos could be tyrannical, such as the stories of him sacrificing children to the Crete Minotaur.
Netflix's 2021 hit Squid Game depicts a winner-take-all battle, where contestants are gassed, kidnapped, and forced to fight to the death. From this description alone, it is abundantly clear that the Squid Games are illegal.
