Miyagi Do. Anderson says that both the Cobra Kai way and the Miyagi way have merit when preparing students for combat sports competition. Mr. Miyagi's teachings encompass kata and the Gōjū-ryū style, both of which have roots in his hometown, the Japanese island of Okinawa.
Well, Miyagi-Do is fictional… the actual Goyu Ryu karate in real life (the style used to inspire Miyagi-Do in te first movie and the show), comes from Okinawa, where kids learned karate as kids today learn school… it was literally part of their formation, as a culture…
As in, yes it is effective, but it needs to be adapted to modern situations. For instance, Lyoto Machida — the canonical example of karate efficacy — has developed his own style to adapt to modern sports combat.
Cobra Kai offers more intense training, which requires better physical fitness and tolerance. On the other hand, Miyagi Do still promotes strength for its fighters, but it doesn't train its trainees in intense martial arts training and fights.
Miyagi-do is an Okinawan style of karate primarily based on defense. It is theorized to be inspired by Gōjū-ryū, which was studied by Robert Mark Kamen and founded by Chōjun Miyagi (宮城 長順, the inspiration for Mr. Miyagi, who appeared in a photo in Back in Black and Miyagi-Do).

Eagle Fang Karate is it's own style derived from Cobra Kai. It uses lot's of side kicks, knee kicks, round house kicks, and Sweeps in combination with straight punches, backfists, and chops. Eagle Fang is a derivative of American Tang Soo Do, popularized by Karate Champion Chuck Norris.

Often times he leaned into it, playing with different Asian accents, like how his Chinese accent for Arnold was supposed to be for a character originally meant to be Japanese. Many of his characters didn't have accents (Morita himself didn't have one and couldn't speak Japanese) but many did.
