"Nosferatu" has been presented as archaic Romanian word, synonymous with "vampire". However, it was largely popularized in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by Western fiction such as the gothic novel Dracula (1897) and the German expressionist film Nosferatu (1922).

Various names and other details were changed from the novel, including Count Dracula being renamed Count Orlok then finally Nosferatu, an archaic Romanian word with a suggested etymology of Nesuferitu`, meaning "the offensive one" or "the insufferable one".
Nosferatu shares a lot of the same themes as Bram Stoker's, Dracula since it is such a close adaptation of the novel itself. However, many of the themes were lost when the studio had to change some details from the original screenplay to make it an original and not a plagiarism on the novel itself.

The problem is, Nosferatu director F.W. Murnau adapted the 1897 novel without permission from Stoker's estate. The film's producer, Albin Grau, was inspired to make a vampire movie after learning about the lore in Serbia while serving in World War I.
He also jokes that his decision to have SpongeBob say the title of the film instead of the character's name, both because of Nosferatu's recognizability and because it made a better fit for the sing-song line delivery, has resulted in years of messages from "trolls" correcting him.

His monster makeup is about as creepy as you can get, eyes are often bugging out of his head, and expressions are animated beyond belief. While the silent actor conveys a cartoonish vampire in his expressions throughout much of the film's runtime, the rest of his bodily movements are kept surprisingly reserved.

In Stoker's novel, sunlight weakens vampires, but that doesn't stop the title villain from walking around during the day. Nosferatu's fiery demise was added by the filmmakers to make the climax more visually interesting.
Legacy. Orlok is the main model for a style of fictional vampire that is often nicknamed Nosferatu after the movie. Although based upon Count Dracula, Orlok possesses none of his predecessor's aristocratic charm or seductiveness.
Bram Stoker actually credited his using of the word from her book. Although Stoker suggests in his book that the word translates from Romanian to "not dead," Gerard claims that it is the Romanian word for "vampire." When commonly used in the western world, the word is associated with illness and disease.
In later seasons, the word chum becomes a euphemism for the "s" word. In "Sailor Mouth," it is implied that SpongeBob and Patrick learnt "bad word #11" and started using it everywhere, even though it was all censored but it is never confirmed what the word is as it is covered up with dolphin noises.
The decision was made, likely for legal reasons, to change the name. But, it wasn't even Hillenburg who came up with the new name. Tom Kenny, who has voiced SpongeBob since the very beginning, is the one who suggested changing Boy to Bob and adding Squarepants too.
