It was often speculated that Rose was hypnotized by Missy into going along with her family's crimes. This was ultimately debunked by Allison Williams, who declared that none of the Armitage's had been hypnotized, and that Rose was just a heartless monster.
Rose Armitage serves as the perfect twist villain in Get Out, fooling both Chris and the audience with her loving facade. Her true colors expose her as an evil and manipulative person who sees trapping and seducing innocent people as a fun game.
“In my mythology of this, Rose is so sick and twisted that she always leaves the door a little bit open,” Peele says in his director's commentary for the film.
Rose is constantly insinuating that she represents the epitome of a not-racist woman. She believes that she always has the better understanding of interracial relationships than Chris does and that she is able to make the better choices for him because she lives in what she believes to be a post-racial society.

Why did Chris stop strangling rose?
Rose initially panics, but starts smiling evilly. Chris, either now unwilling or too exhausted to kill his former girlfriend, stops strangling her. When a police car pulls up, Rose weakly calls for help, hoping Chris will be arrested and that she will be saved.
Williams and Peele had seen Rose as something of “an emotionally stunted woman with the mentality of a teenager,” hence the choice to have her drink milk in such a sinister fashion.
This order is behind the movie's biggest plot twist: Chris was lured into the lair of a secretive cult that will force him to undergo a procedure to transfer a white person's mind into his young, healthy body as they did with other innocent black men in the past.
The song is called Sikiliza, and it is both unnerving and also one of the hidden messages in Get Out. The Swahili lyrics contain a warning for Chris — "Brother, listen to the ancestors - run!" The song sets the tone for the film and for the terrifying journey that Chris is about to embark on.
In the first test, Cameron disproves the fan theory that there was simply enough room on the raft for both Jack and Rose to survive. While there is enough room for “Jack and Rose to get on the raft, they're now both submerged in dangerous levels of freezing water,” Cameron observed.
When the flash goes off in Logan's face his demeanor changes. Physical symptoms manifest which include a nose bleed, fear in his eyes and lunging at Chris saying "Get out". Initially, this perception of this is interpreted as aggression, but later he learns that Logan was actually warning him.
One of the darkest and scariest scenes in Get Out is the one that takes place in the sunken place. This is where Rose's family brings their captives so that their bodies can be overtaken by the cult members. Chris is taken here during hypnosis twice but is luckily able to get out both times.
The maid's tear symbolizes the black parts of herself that the maid must give up in order to shout, “No, no, no, no, no” when the man across from her accuses her of blindly believing everything that the white family, or elite liberal- ism, has convinced her and her black peers to think.
Chris realizes that all the black people he saw at the Armitage estate are actually white people who have taken over the bodies of the black people. When the time for the transplant has come, Missy uses the TV to hypnotize Chris so he cannot resist.
As the film deals with racism, Peele has stated that the story is "very personal", although he noted that "it quickly veers off from anything autobiographical." Peele was introduced to producer Sean McKittrick by comedy partner Keegan-Michael Key in 2013. "I was shooting a movie with Keegan-Michael Key.
Chris originally thought that Walter was attracted to Rose. As it turned out, he's her grandfather. Later on, Chris learned that the grandfather had his brain transplanted into the mind of a black man, using the pseudonym of Walter.
In this scene, Chris is bound to a leather chair and begins scratching at it revealing the cotton stuffing inside. This symbolism dates back to slavery when African slaves had to pick cotton and were whipped with leather whips when perceived insubordinate.
This links to a buck's head being mounted later in the film as Chris is imprisoned, linking to the idea that the Armitage family sees black people as mere trophies to be hunted. Furthermore, the deer symbolizes helplessness in the film.
Finally, the silver spoon symbolizes the power wealth has and how it can further racism and discrimination. It is also a representation of slavery and ownership of black bodies.
Why Rose Smiles When Chris Is Choking Her. After Walter shot Rose, Chris approached her and she “apologized” to him and told him she loved him, but Chris knew she wasn't sincere. Chris started choking Rose, and though she was shocked at first, she slowly started smiling.
Like all of Peele's films, Get Out is deeply metaphorical. The Sunken Place serves as a metaphor for the underlying bigotry that exists even in modern day. Many white liberals view befriending Black people as a commodity (like the ones literally sold by the Order of the Coagula), but without giving them any agency.
If you've seen Get Out, you may be feeling a little jumpy around teacups and spoons. In writer-director Jordan Peele's diabolically clever thriller, those ordinary objects are used to hypnotize protagonist Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) into a state where terrible things can happen.
The milk and Froot Loops scene suggests that Rose has become fundamentally incapable of feeling for others and for living a normal life in any sense because of her upbringing and participation in her family's business.
Upon greeting Rod, the detective pours herself a handful of nuts from a bag and proceeds to eat them while Rod explains the crisis at hand. Lastly, the final food/drink moment in the film occurs when Rose is enjoying a bowl of Froot Loops® and milk.
Sitting on her bed, with framed photos of her past conquests hanging on the wall, she's doing a Bing search on her laptop for “Top NCAA Prospects.” The brief scene is a sublime mix of comedy and horror that has stayed with people long after they've watched the movie.
