All told, Scream 3 features a much higher body count than it's two predecessors. Crude or Profane Language: More than 50 uses of the f- and s-words. Numerous misuses of God's name. Many mild profanities and crude expressions.
Notable differences from other franchise entries are less sex and sexual references and elevated gore and violence. "Scream VI" is officially rated R for strong bloody violence and language throughout, and brief drug use.

The Scream series became a popular series with critics and audience due to the fact it was a self-aware slasher film that knew the clichés of the genres whilst still working as a slasher film. But the third film of the series is considered the weak link of the franchise.
I think if your kid is over 11 he can indeed watch scream. I believe it is really good but the first one if better, but I am getting of lane. If your child is mature enough and doesn't get terrified easily. 1 person found this helpful.
NOT for kids under 18 - We had to walk out due to psychologically disturbing content! 😱 We were shocked by the disturbingly demented content and graphic psychologically damaging descriptions that were depicted in first 20 minutes of this movie. Nothing like the prior Scream movies!
Severe. Many other murder or attack victims are somewhat to extremely bloody and by the end nearly everyone is covered in their or someone else's blood. Frequent violence includes multiple stabbings, shootings, and characters shown disemboweled.
Though the seventh film is still in the works, the franchise has hit a bump in the road as it has been reported that several cast members will no longer return for the sequel.
Overall, I'd give the movie a 3/5, and kids ages 12 and up should be able to handle it. My rating: Rated R for strong horror violence, disturbing images, strong language and some crude/sexual humor.

The 3rd and 4th films did not disappoint but they weren't as good as the first 2. Watching scream 5, I can definitely state that Wes craven would be proud and that this film does match up to the first film. However, the entire film builds up a lot of momentum only for the fans to be left disappointed with the ending.
