We were shocked by the disturbingly demented content and graphic psychologically damaging descriptions that were depicted in first 20 minutes of this movie. Nothing like the prior Scream movies! My husband and I usually like horror movies, but I would advise any parents to keep kids under 18 from watching this .
Very gory for a PG-13 show. A masked character has a chainsaw brought down onto their neck, which cuts through it and decapitates them. In an episode, a character's insides can be seen after a bloody kill off camera. Contains moments of moderate to strong violence and gore throughout the series.

“Scream 4” is among the best in the franchise. Its use of color and its iconic cast (newcomers and veterans alike) allow the film to feel like a fully fleshed-out sequel. Jill, Kirby, Gale, and Sidney were the best-portrayed and written characters in this film.
Overall, I'd give the movie a 3/5, and kids ages 12 and up should be able to handle it. My rating: Rated R for strong horror violence, disturbing images, strong language and some crude/sexual humor.
