Severe. Lots of graphic sequences of violence that include characters getting stabbed for about 21 times in a row in the torso during a single sequence, knives are seen going through mouth and hands in a very gory way, and throats are slit.
The movie stumbles a bit with its mystery as it tries too hard with its red herrings while also assuming the big twist is less obvious than it really is. However, it is a more vicious Ghostface with Scream 6 featuring the most brutal kills in the franchise.
It's pretty brutal, but thanks to strong character interactions and a good mystery story, it succeeds. Expect tons of stabbings and slayings, bloody wounds, blood spurts, dead bodies, etc.

The Scream franchise can be scary, depending on who you ask, but I think Scream 6 takes the cake for the scariest of all the Scream movies. The movie takes place during Halloween weekend, which means people in costumes are going to be everywhere, especially Ghostface costumes.
Scream 6 introduced five killers, the most in any Scream film, who were not working together. Their identities were revealed early on, breaking convention. Detective Bailey, Quinn Bailey, and Ethan Landry were revealed as the killers at the end of Scream 6. Their motive was revenge for Detective Bailey's son's death.
Overall, I'd give the movie a 3/5, and kids ages 12 and up should be able to handle it. My rating: Rated R for strong horror violence, disturbing images, strong language and some crude/sexual humor.
