"Barbie" gave us a live-action version of scenarios we played out as kids, like Barbie and Ken in space, on a camping trip, having a dance party, and so much more, but it didn't give us any kissing scenes. That doesn't mean the idea wasn't part of the planning, of course.
“It was so funny trying to figure out what their idea of kissing might be,” Gosling told People during the joint interview with Robbie earlier this month. “I'm so glad all of that got cut out.”
The movie received its PG-13 rating because of “suggestive references” and “brief language.” Some parents may not be ready or comfortable to discuss the more advanced plot lines while others may simply just know if their child is or is not ready to be introduced to mature topics.
As several fans anticipated, Margot's and Ryan's characters never actually share a full kiss in the film — despite how close they get at several points.
These include the characters' discussion about Barbie and Ken dolls' lack of genitalia, though there is no nudity or sex in the movie. At the end of the movie there is also a scene where Barbie goes to the gynecologist, which may raise some questions for younger viewers.
While the film does not dive into trans identity, Barbie still manages to touch upon LGBTQ+ issues without naming them as such. In fact, the film features several openly LGBTQ+ actors, like Hari Nef, Kate McKinnon, Alexandra Shipp, and Scott Evans.

By advocating for women's rights, Christians can contribute to a more compassionate and just world. A world where women's voices are heard, talents are valued, and the Church's mission of love and hope is extended to all, regardless of gender. This is one more reason that Christians should see the new Barbie movie.

Greta Gerwig's Barbie is the must see event of the season and I recommend it to anyone - boys, girls, fathers, daughters, and yes, even your conservative grandparents.
