Teresa's willingness to make personal sacrifices for the greater good of the group further cements her status as a character with strong moral qualities, making her a "good" person within the intricate narrative of the Maze Runner series.

It just needed to happen, in her mind. No biggie. In book 2, she couldn't stand the thought of Thomas feeling betrayed without warning, so she tries really hard to warn him. And then basically kills their friendship to save his life.
