In the Spider-Man comics, Venom is known to be weak to fire, noise, electricity, and other alien beings. He is arguably the series' most heinous villain, surpassing the Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus and Tombstone, who all have less resources. He does not have a tragic backstory, redeeming qualities, comedic moments or even a Freudian Excuse for his actions and shows no remorse for what he does at all.
Since his debut however, Venom has evolved into an antiheroic figure, slowly distancing himself from his initial goal to ruin Spider-Man's life to try and do good instead, even putting aside his differences with and helping Spider-Man at times.
The symbiote serial killer Carnage is one of Marvel's deadliest characters, but few would guess he's a match for the Hulk in terms of raw strength. However, when Carnage fused with the Grendel symbiote, he became so absurdly strong that he beat Hulk with ease.
The sonic noise also harms the symbiote and causes Venom to cower away from Hulk in agony. While Venom is down, Hulk informs him that he's here to help the earthquake victims and the two heavy-weights finally see eye-to-eye and agree to work together. Leaving the Hulk as the winner of the fight.
While Carnage would win a battle against Captain America, it's going to lead to a war he can't win when word of the fight gets to Thor. Carnage may be able to give Thor a decent fight, but the God of Thunder has too much power at his hands for Carnage to be able to defeat him.
