In the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 movie, Effie Trinket joined the rebels in District 13 and helped Katniss take her stand against the Capitol. However, the Capitol escort's experience during the war was far darker in the Hunger Games movies.
Backround. Effie was born in the Capitol in 44 ADD to Justinus and Euphemia Trinket. Her parents were pretty old when they gave birth to her, but it wasn't really a problem, since this has happened to another rich family. She was named after her mother.
Personality… flighty, sometimes overly cheerful, and a master in Capitol protocol and manners. Effie tries to attempt to remain positive despite her taxing job being Peeta and Katniss' liaison to the Capitol, especially when she has the full knowledge that the two probably will never come back from the games alive.
While Effie Trinket is one of the most beloved characters in The Hunger Games, she's also inadvertently a cruel member of the Capitol. As a villain with heroic moments, she genuinely cares about Katniss and wishes the best for her. However, the way Effie smiles throughout the Reaping can't be anything but inhumane.
Effie begins the original Hunger Games as an open tool of the Capitol. She mentors the tributes from the dirt-poor District 12 every year while they are selected and prepared for the titular Games. Katniss and Peeta are the first Victors from District 12 in decades.

As Katniss gets to know Finnick during the Quarter Quell, she sees he is in fact loyal, dutiful, and caring. For example, despite Mags being a burden on his chances of survival, Finnick does everything he can to keep the eighty-year-old alive because, as we learn, she was his mentor and he genuinely cares about her.
While, throughout the series, there's some chemistry between the two, nothing ever comes of the tension in Suzanne Collins' novels. Beyond the kiss, nothing happened between the two in the movies either.
During the events of the Rebellion, Effie was said to be taken by the Capitol, and Katniss later finds out that Effie had joined the rebels' side in the rebellion. Effie lives in the Capitol, and remains there for most of the year.
Peeta used the dyes to paint a picture of Rue after Katniss covered her with flowers when she died. He says he wants to hold them accountable for killing Rue, and Effie tells him that that kind of thinking is forbidden. Katniss then tells the team she hung a dummy of Seneca Crane.
and the Tejafa family's organization. Since this revelation, fans have been convinced that this criminal informant (Ci) is Effie Morales (Alix Lapri). However, there is much proof that Effie is not Jenny's Ci. In fact, someone else fits the mold much better.
In the penultimate episode of season three, Effie gets arrested for attempted murder for what she did to Lauren. At the start of the finale, Effie finds herself sitting in jail waiting to get indicted, which is part of the feds' plan to eventually get her to flip on Tariq and his now-dissolved crew.
Effie is even more shocked than last year about their private training sessions with the Gamemakers when she finds out that they deliberately sabotaged them to protest the Games. On the verge of tears, she retires to her room until the time comes for Katniss and Peeta to receive their training scores.
Chia Mags kisses Finnick on the mouth to briefly let him know that this is the last time she will see him. It's her way of saying "Goodbye" but in a more affectionate way.
The films, trying to be as faithful to the source material as possible, naturally had to include Finnick's death as well. In this sense, Finnick is the perfect candidate for upping the stakes of the plot via his death, as his hope for a future with his partner Annie made his demise seem even more untimely.
Answer and Explanation: At the end of Catching Fire, Effie is arrested by District 13 after Katniss escapes from the arena. They hold her as a political prisoner because of her ties to the Capitol and her role in the Hunger Games.
Katniss said goodbye to a teary Effie Trinket just before entering the arena for the Quarter Quell in the Catching Fire book, and didn't see her again until the preparations for President Snow's execution in Mockingjay.
Katniss killed acting President Alma Coin instead, and after she was released from custody, the former victor was allowed to return to District 12. Effie said her goodbyes to her District 12 allies, and presumably returned to her life in the Capitol.
Effie is short for the Greek name Euphemia, meaning well-spoken, which fits well enough—though the Greek for well-dressed might suit her better. Her last name does nod to her attire: It describes a small/cheap ornament, something Elizabeth Banks' costume designer has down to a T.
even then, both of them had very different ways of achieving their success. haymitch is all sarcasm and rough prodding whereas effie tries to be as sweet, and patient as possible. effie is from the capitol, she cares about fashion and food and decorations whereas haymitch....just wants his liquor.
