Stick was born blind, and at a relatively young age was imprisoned for ten years for an unknown crime. There, he was trained by the Chaste and despite his blindness, he was able to overcome his disability to become a powerful and dangerous warrior.
Unable to carry a child of their own, a wealthy businessman and his wife chose to adopt a young orphan named Elektra. The young Elektra was brought to them by Stick who left before introductions were made.

By his mid-teens, the future warrior was undergoing mystic training from the Ancient One (Yao), Sorcerer Supreme; it was perhaps under this tutelage that Stick honed his remaining senses to super human levels, since he easily concealed his blindness from others.
He can “see” around corners, through walls, glass and doors. Of course those do mute his radar sense. He can not see color, only form, shape and movement.
Leader of The Chaste, a warrior order, Stick trains a generation of heroes and fights alongside them to seek destruction of The Hand. While he's mainly known as the man who trained Daredevil, Stick is a character who has his own rich history of fighting evil.
Later, she was revealed to potentially be the Black Sky, the one who is supposed to lead the Hand. However, Elektra chose to help Murdock defeat the malevolent organization and was killed in the final fight with Nobu Yoshioka.
Elektra chose to leave the Chaste causing Stick to order Duchamps to assassinate her for her betrayal. Tracking her to a private airport, Duchamps initially greeted Elektra and began flirting with her, as she assumed a false name and flirted back, hinting they got begin a sexual relationship in Paris.
Daredevil's relationships tend to end in tragedy. His first real love interest was Karen Page, the secretary at his law firm. While their relationship had its ups and downs, Karen was tragically killed by Bullseye, who also killed another one of his girlfriends, the lethal assassin Elektra.
In the comics, Roscoe Sweeney is also known as the Fixer due to his illegal activities that led him to be responsible for Jack Murdock's murder. He was the first criminal that Daredevil brought down, though he died as the fear caused him to suffer a fatal heart attack during the encounter.
Daredevil Loses His Radar Power After Being Caught In An Explosion. Readers get to see exactly how Daredevil lost his powers in Daredevil #174 by Frank Miller, Klaus Janson, Glynis Oliver, and Joe Rosen. Matt Murdock is bombed by the Hand, and, while Matt does survive, his radar sense as Daredevil is completely gone.
At the end of the episode, Matt steals Foggy's wallet after finding him in a bar. Once outside the building, he takes the wallet out to check for the presence of the bar association ID he's going to need to break into prison in the next episode.
For the minimalist costume, the mask had no openings for the eyes. It makes sense as Matt Murdock was left visually-impaired after a childhood accident.
Trivia. Frank's nickname for Matt is "Red", due to the color of the Daredevil suit. Matt and Karen are the only characters Frank truly opens up to about his traumas, leading them both to develop soft spots for the humanity of a man that no other characters see.
Daredevil is known for using batons, which are his primary weapon of choice, and something he learned to handle while training under Stick. However, he is also skilled in a variety of other projectile weapons, including throwing knives, shurikens, and, surprisingly, firearms.
