During the Galactic Civil War, Yavin 4 was a location of one of the Rebel Alliance's principal bases. The Ghost crew and other rebel cells from across the galaxy joined together there in the early days of the Rebellion.

While the Ghost was traveling to the Alliance headquarters on Yavin 4, Ezra experienced a Force vision of Jho and Azadi on Lothal. After the Ghost landed outside the Great Temple, the Spectres were met by Erskin Semaj, who summoned them for a meeting with Alliance leader Mon Mothma.
