The DS-2 Death Star II Mobile Battle Station, codenamed Second Sun and DS-2, also known as the Death Star MK. 2, the Death Star Mark 2, Battle Station DS-II, or simply the second Death Star, was a partially completed moon-sized battle station constructed by the Galactic Empire as the successor to the first Death Star.
The first Death Star was destroyed by Luke Skywalker, with the help of Han Solo, and the second Death Star was destroyed by Wedge Antilles and Lando Calrissian. Prior to the second Death Star being built, the Galactic Empire tested out a planetary superlaser for protecting its installations on the planet of Dubrillion.
Hoping to crush the Rebellion once and for all, the Empire began construction of a second dreaded Death Star near Endor. Emperor Palpatine then leaked word of its construction to the Alliance, hoping to lure rebel forces in and destroy them.
It was two-three times larger than DS1 and took far more materials to build it. Sid also wanted it to look unfinished so he could lure the Rebels in: “it's a trap!” But he ensured the planet killer gun was operational by sending Vader in to oversee it.
Essentially, the Empire was able to build the second Death Star so quickly because they'd already built one before. Furthermore, Darth Sidious expedited the construction of the second Death Star so that it was functional far sooner than the first.
In the original Star Tours, a Death Star III is seen and destroyed during the ride sequence by the New Republic. Leland Chee originally created the third Death Star to explain why a Death Star is present on the Star Tours ride when both of the stations in the movies were destroyed.
There are a lot of different numbers floating around out there as to the size of all three of these weapons. For DS1, I've seen diameters of 120, 140, or 160 km. For DS2, I've seen 160 to 900 km. Wookieepedia has Starkiller Base at a diameter of 660 km.
Is the Death Star more powerful than Starkiller Base?
The answer to this question will come down to each person's individual preference for the functionality of a sci-fi super weapon. If one considers the sheer might of the Starkiller Base and nothing else, then it is clear that the Starkiller Base is the better of the two.

Still located in the northern hemisphere of the battlestation, the much improved superlaser equipped in the second Death Star was much more powerful than its predecessor, and took only three minutes to recharge, in comparison to the 24 hour recharge required for the first Death Star's superlaser.

The Death Star's construction took much longer than portrayed in the Star Wars films, with over 20 years spent on perfecting the superlaser. The development of the superlaser, built using kyber crystals, was the most complicated and time-consuming aspect of the Death Star's completion.
But what made the Death Star particularly menacing was its ability to travel through hyperspace. Not only was it equipped with destructive armaments, it could pursue its prey with those armaments.

The Empire had other weapons besides the Death Star that could have been more effective in pushing their agenda on the galaxy. Starkiller Base was one suggestion, with a longer range and no built-in self-destruct, making it a formidable weapon.
But taking all these sources into account, the death toll of the first Death Star can be left as around 1.1 million and the one of the second Death Star as over two million, which is still a lot even for Star Wars – more so considering that this happened in the first three films of the franchise.
In the Star Wars: Bloodline novel, it's said that "nearly one and a half million" people died; although many of the accounts seem to be influenced by Imperial propaganda, as other novels like Star Wars: Lost Stars have characters claim the deaths were under one million, and others say it was close to two million.
Around the time of the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Rebel Alliance Intelligence Service estimated that the Empire had more than a dozen Super Star Destroyers including Darth Vader's flagship Executor, the Annihilator, the Arbitrator, Emperor Palpatine's personal ship Eclipse, and the Ravager.
