Black Panther (Shuri) is a superheroine appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Reginald Hudlin and artist John Romita Jr., the character first appeared in Black Panther vol. 4 #2 (May 2005). Shuri is the princess of the fictional African nation of Wakanda.
The daughter of T'Chaka and half-sister of T'Challa, Shuri spent much of her life living in the shadows of men. However, after working to stop an invasion of Wakanda and helping her brother recover after Doctor Doom nearly killed him, Shuri stepped into the spotlight and became the Black Panther herself.

Cast. Letitia Wright as Shuri / Black Panther: The princess of Wakanda who designs new technology for the nation. Wright was given a larger role in the film following the death of Chadwick Boseman, who starred in previous MCU media as Shuri's older brother T'Challa / Black Panther.
In the movie — which has already broken records — Ramonda, Nakia, Okoye, and Shuri (played by Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, and newcomer Letitia Wright, respectively) serve as the catalyst for Black Panther's success.
Shuri is the younger sister of T'Challa and most recently, a queen. As such, she has been the ruler of Wakanda, an African nation known to be one of the most technologically advanced civilizations on Earth.
In this case, we had Ugandan-German actress Florence Kasumba and Ghanaian-British screenwriter / actor Michaela Coel, who both play Dora Milaje warriors Ayo and Aneka in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The two characters, as per the comics, are in a relationship.

In the scene, Aneka kisses Ayo on the forehead. Ayo replies, “Thank you, my love,” making it clear the pair are romantically linked. The scene lasts just a few seconds (par for the course with Marvel and its tepid LGBTQ+ representation record), but was apparently still too much for the Kuwaiti censors.
In another improvement over the original, Wakanda Forever doesn't use wealthy and successful African American actors to preach to us about the continued inequality suffered by African-Americans. It does, however, awkwardly shoehorn in one of the Left's favorite talking points: colonization.
As Nakia reveals in Wakanda Forever, she left her post behind because she couldn't stand living in the country while their King was gone. That's because T'Challa was not only her ruler and her brother at arms but her lover.
The MCU has had great couples in the past, and they've told love stories within superhero films before. But ultimately, while there was clear chemistry between Shuri and Namor, it was for the best that Marvel Studios decided to do without their potential love line.
In a single scene in Infinity War, Shuri proves that she's smarter than Bruce, and the rest of her work proves that she's got the edge over Tony more generally. Of course, it helps that she grew up in a virtual tech utopia. But Shuri would be one of the smartest people in the MCU regardless of where she's from.
In the MCU, Riri Williams is a 19-year-old MIT student and genius inventor who developed a vibranium-detecting machine that was putting Namor's (Tenoch Huerta) underwater kingdom in danger. Riri also built a suit of armor inspired by those of Iron Man, and she had already been testing it around the city.

Nakia appears in films set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), portrayed by Lupita Nyong'o. This version hails from Wakanda's River Tribe, is a former Dora Milaje who became a War Dog, an international spy for Wakanda, and was previously in a relationship with T'Challa. She first appears in Black Panther (2018).
Chinese censors are rumored to be in the process of banning screenings of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, likely because of the movie's brief depiction of a gay relationship.
Redditor UncleBullhorn commented, "The pacing was a big problem all through this movie," and although some may differ, the rhythm does feel uneven throughout Wakanda Forever. While some sequences feel fast and rushed, others feel slow and unnecessarily long.
While it wasn't officially confirmed that M'Baku had taken the throne in Wakanda Forever, he is likely the new king as Shuri was in Haiti at the time visiting Nakia. Because of this, her absence from the ceremony at Warrior Falls was likely a sign of forfeiture.
T'Challa's prominent lover in the comics also happens to be one of the most experienced X-Men members, Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. Their paths first cross when she rescues T'Challa from kidnappers.
However, Nehanda is not the only Black Panther Queen to precede Shuri canonically. Queen Turkana, a character created by award-wining author Nnedi Okorafor, was also a Black Panther.
Female panthers reach sexual maturity at about one and a half to two and a half years old, and males at about three years old. Panthers are polygamous, meaning they may mate with more than one partner. Males will try to prevent other males from mating with females within their ranges but they are not always successful.
