After Voldemort's defeat by Harry at the Battle of Hogwarts and the restoration of the Ministry of Magic by the new Minister, Kingsley Shacklebolt, Umbridge was sentenced to life imprisonment in Azkaban for her crimes against Muggle-borns.
What happened to Umbridge after the Centaurs took her?
Umbridge was ultimately rescued by Dumbledore, although she was apparently left with a significant fear of centaurs afterwards, reacting violently at even the sound of hoof-beats.

Why was Umbridge so awful?
Her prejudiced views toward Muggles were so vile that even Ministry workers with anti-muggle ideologies were shocked by her suggestions of how the non-magical community should be treated. Despised her Muggle mother and her Squib brother, considering them inferior to her and her father under the latter's influence.
Why did Harry's scar hurt when Umbridge touched him?
J. K. Rowling stated that the pain from Harry's scar on his forehead was caused by the piece of Voldemort's soul trying to leave his body through the wound it entered to rejoin its master's soul.
Harry describes Umbridge to Sirius Black, saying that she's vile enough to be a Death Eater, despite not being one. Umbridge is also depicted to be a prejudiced person, despising half-breeds and Muggle-born witches and wizards to the point of firing Hagrid due to his half-giant birth status.

Because to a pureblood fanatic like Bellatrix, Harry is a Mudblood because one of his parents (Lily Evans) was a Muggleborn. Anyone with Muggle ancestry is one, including Snape since his father was a Muggle (Tobias).
As Dolores Umbridge was a sadist who enjoyed torturing students, Filch could relate to this. Also, as Umbridge granted Filch permission to torture misbehaving students, whereas Dumbledore would never even think of such things, he had loyalty to her. He is the only person who liked her at the school.
Dolores Umbridge's wand was 8" long, made of birch wood with a dragon heartstring core. The wand length was considered "unusually short" by wandmaker Garrick Ollivander. This typically meant that something was lacking in the owner's personality.
They were ordered to register with the Muggle-Born Registration Commission, which convicted them of stealing magic from "real" wizards and witches (pure-bloods) and imprisoned them in Azkaban, though the entire trial was unfair and Muggle-borns were punished whether the evidence proved them guilty or not.
We can assume that Umbridge may have been physically and emotionally abused and molested in the forest by centaurs as a punishment for invading their territory and hurting their pride.
Their relationship ends when the D.A. is exposed following Marietta Edgecombe's betrayal of the group to Umbridge. Cho defends her friend's actions by saying that Marietta simply made a mistake.
At this time, Dolores Umbridge is put on trial and quickly and easily found guilty of the awful crimes she committed against muggles and muggle-born, as well as in aiding the Death Eaters. She is thereafter sentenced to life imprisonment in the dark halls of Azkaban prison.
After the end of the Second Wizarding War, Cho later married a Muggle individual. She most likely kept her D.A. coin, as a badge of honour, as did other D.A. members. It can be assumed that she attended the 2014 reunion of Dumbledore's Army.
Apparently, Umbridge's mother was a Muggle and her brother was a Squib – a source of huge embarrassment for the family. Perhaps their abandonment and retreat back into the Muggle world had such a huge impact on Umbridge that it became the catalyst for her Muggleborn-targeted cruelty later on in life.
What happened to Kreacher at the end of Harry Potter?
Kreacher survived the final battle of the Second Wizarding War; it is unknown what happened to him later in life, though he died at some point after Albus Potter went to Hogwarts.
Peter Pettigrew (a.k.a. Wormtail) is one of two Death Eaters known to have been in a House other than Slytherin (Gryffindor) while at Hogwarts. There, he was a close friend of Sirius Black, James Potter, and Remus Lupin, although he was the least intelligent and least talented of the group.
Notably, Voldemort appeared to be entirely unaware of this split, as he later created a seventh Horcrux in his quest to have six, and continued to target Harry Potter despite him now holding part of Voldemort's own soul.
After Lord Voldemort destroyed the fragment of his soul residing in Harry, Harry seemingly lost the ability to speak Parseltongue, about which he was glad and relieved. Over the next twenty-two years, he never attempted to speak the language, presuming that it had died with Voldemort.
Hagrid's half-giant status also meant that Umbridge was highly prejudiced against him, viewing him as a "filthy half-breed", and so she became quite determined to get rid of him. Umbridge's biased and insulting inspections of his classes made Hagrid rather nervous, and he was soon placed on probation.
