When Qui-Gon was killed by Darth Maul, Dooku was so saddened that Qui-Gon's death lead to Dooku's transformation into the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus. He would later provoke the memory against Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jinn's apprentice.

Having been trained to become Sith Lords, both Maul and Dooku sought to gain more power under Sidious while simultaneously looking to overthrow him. Toward the end of the Clone Wars, Dooku and Maul did actually meet each other in canon in the Son of Dathomir comics by Jeremy Barlow.

Obi-Wan is good at letting his emotions go. He feels them in the moment, the anger and sadness over deaths of ones he loved like Qui-Gon and Satine. The guilt and pain over Anakin's turn. He feels them deeply, and then lets them go.
Even though Palpatine was far more. powerful than Qui Gon, there was no Jedi he feared more, save maybe Yoda. This was largely due to the fact that Qui Gon was. unlike most Jedi of the time.
We are led to assume this as in TCW Qui-gon admits his training was incomplete. He could only appear on Mortis, anywhere else he could only be a disembodied voice.
Implying to Jedi Master Yaddle that he held the Jedi Council partly accountable for Qui-Gon's death, Dooku refused to attend Qui-Gon's funeral on Naboo.
