Jafar assumes control of the palace (which is lifted off the ground and put on the main top of a mountain by Genie) and banishes Aladdin to a frozen wasteland. Jafar then turns the Sultan into a puppet, allowing Iago to torture the Sultan by force-feeding him crackers as revenge for the crackers the Sultan fed Iago.
Jafar's greatest moment of cruelty came when Jasmine was seeking out her true love; with utmost callousness, Jafar lied and told her that Aladdin had already been executed. Ultimately, his lust for power led to his defeat, and he was forced into less-than-spacious accommodations.
Jafar's crimes include attempted murder, abuse of power and theft. His greatest crime, however, is kidnapping people using the power of magic – a conviction that'll see him spend the rest of his life behind bars.
What Makes Him Pure Evil? Upon gaining control over Genie, he uses his newfound magical abilities to banish Aladdin and Abu from Agrabah and to distant lands. He also unravels Magic Carpet to prevent them from returning. He usurps the throne of Agrabah, imprisoning the Sultan and enslaving Jasmine.

Jafar's Lamp was a black oil lamp that appeared at the end of Aladdin. It was created by Jafar's wish to become an all-powerful genie, unaware that such a wish would result in eternal imprisonment.
The original Aladdin story was actually set in China. Aladdin is one of the stories compiled in The Thousand and One Nights — a collection of Middle Eastern and Indian folk tales, however, it did not appear in the original Arabic text.
