intriguing films, such as Snow White, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and Tangled, Disney Princess movies portray stereotypical representation of gender roles through the denigration of the female image, targeting and ruining the perception of youth today.
They trawled through eight decades of Disney animations from Snow White released in 1937 to Frozen in 2019 and everything in between. The authors of the paper found that 60 per cent of Disney animated characters were male, while just 40 per cent were female. That is starkly different from our 50-50 gender split.
Belle from Beauty and the Beast is also another sexism example. The movie portrays Belle as being stuck in an abusive relationship. Instead of leaving the beast, Belle gives up being with her family to live in isolation being yelled, only hoping for the beast to change into a nicer and better person.

Similar to Mulan, Tiana tries to break some stereotypes against women. For example, she was portrayed as a really strong woman, a hard worker, and independent.
We found multiple patterns of gender inequality related to speaking roles, lead characters, physical portrayals, social roles, interpersonal relationships, and even the creators of the films. Male characters had three times as many speaking roles as female characters and had the lead role in 80% of the films.
In sum, girls and women were still less likely than boys and men to be the lead/co lead across the 100 top performing fictional films in 2022. This gap only widened, when we considered women protagonists 45 years of age or older. Discrimination in top films is not limited to gender, however.

Films about gender include subjects about the role of gender in relationships, not necessarily couple relationships. They can be about the meaning behind the identity of being a "man" or a "woman", the stereotypes related to them and the behaviors expected from men and women.
Gender inequality is discrimination on the basis of sex or gender causing one sex or gender to be routinely privileged or prioritized over another. Gender equality is a fundamental human right and that right is violated by gender-based discrimination.
