Galadriel: "That choice is yet before her. You have your own choice to make, Aragorn… to rise above the height of all your fathers since the days of Elendil, or to fall into darkness… with all that is left of your kin."
He plays a pivotal role in one final tactical battle to distract Sauron, thus enabling Frodo to destroy the Ring once and for all. After Sauron's defeat, Aragorn is crowned King Elessar of Gondor and Arnor, a name bestowed to him by Galadriel.
In the books, Aragorn receives two important gifts: a magical Elven scabbard, that will prevent any sword sheathed in it from breaking, and Elessar the Elfstone, a green gem that is set in a silver eagle-shaped brooch.
When The Fellowship is taken to Galadriel, she and Boromir have a telepathic conversation which immediately causes Boromir to burst into tears. She senses his desires for the Ring but tells him not to give in because even now, there is hope.

A legend says that the Wizard Gandalf had brought such a stone, called the Elessar, from Valinor. He gave the Elessar to the Elven Lady Galadriel and remarked prophetically that she would pass it to another, who will also be called Elessar. From this would come Aragorn's royal name Elessar (Quenya for "Elfstone").
When Aragorn leads his company away from Edoras towards the Dwimorberg, the haunted mountain, and the Paths of the Dead, he leaves Éowyn behind him, his last words to her nothing more than, “Nay, lady”.
Legolas first appears during the Council of Elrond, where he is sent as a messenger by his father, Thranduil, to give the council the news of Gollum's escape with the Elves of Mirkwood. He is then selected by Elrond to represent the Elves in the Company that sets out with Frodo on his quest to destroy the Ring.
The story was abandoned, but Tolkien reused the characters and events. Isildur features briefly in voiced-over flashback sequences of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. The video game Middle-earth: Shadow of War departs from Tolkien's narrative by having Sauron make Isildur into a Nazgûl or ringwraith.
Galadriel was present at Aragorn's coronation and his wedding to Arwen in the books. If Saruman was the highest of the order, why was he not entrusted with one of the Three Rings (like Elrond, Galadriel and Gandalf)?
Saruman is a Mannish translation of Quenya Curumo, his original name in Valinor as a Maia; and Sindarin Curunír which is supposedly the same name (with the ending -ndîr "man"). All names mean "Skilled Man" or "Cunning One" (root curu "skill").

For those that haven't read Tolkien's work, it's easy to see why many audiences suspect Gandalf and Galadriel are in love. After all, many of their interactions in The Hobbit trilogy practically scream romance. However, their relationship remains purely platonic in Tolkien's source material.
Before the Company of the Ring left Lothlórien, each of its members was presented with a gift by Galadriel. Boromir was given a belt of gold which he carried in the journey until the Breaking of the Fellowship. When Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas laid him in his burial boat, the golden belt gleamed about his waist.
Éowyn falls in love with Aragorn, but though he respects her, he does not return her feelings, as he is betrothed to the elf Arwen. As Aragorn points out, her duty is with her people; she has to shoulder the responsibility of ruling Rohan in Théoden's stead when the war-host of Rohan go to war.
Aragorn is one of the few people who admires Éowyn for her warrior spirit, and encourages her to follow her heart. Éowyn comes from royalty, as does Aragorn, and a marriage between them would be beneficial for both of their kingdoms.
In the year 121 of the Fourth Age, after Aragorn's death, Arwen died of a broken heart at Cerin Amroth in Lórien, and was buried there one year after the death of Aragorn, to whom she had been wedded for 122 years. She was 2901 years old.
Aragorn was renamed Estel ("hope" in Sindarin) to hide his existence from Sauron and his servants. During his childhood, he was not told about his heritage.
He did not want to see his daughter Arwen married to Aragorn, a mortal, and did his best to stop her from following her heart. Not only did he treat Aragorn– and the race of men in general– with contempt, but he went as far as lying to Arwen about what he saw of her future.
She calls him Mithrandir. It's his name in elvish. The root word is mith which has to do with silver. Mithril, for example, is that silver armor shirt that Bill has that is later given to Frodo.
Galadriel: "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Go now and rest for you are weary with sorrow and much toil. Tonight you will sleep in peace." [She whispers to Frodo in his mind, casting her eyes sideways at him.]
