He had been turned into a werepanther. As he wasn't born a werepanther, he would only make a half transformation, described as "half man, half panther". Much to Sookie's surprise, he loved being supernatural and wished he was a full blooded werepanther.
It's eventually revealed that despite being bitten, Jason cannot turn into a werepanther because weres and shifters only get that power from being born as one. Jason, relieved, bonds with Jessica. They eventually part ways, though it's clear that feelings have developed between the two of them.
In actuality, they're both descended from a fairy who procreated with a human several generations ago. Fairies breed with humans, sometimes without consent, in order to propagate their bloodline. Fairy traits are also like recessive genes, which explains why Sookie is fae-bearing, but her brother, Jason, is not.
Batman then takes him in and raises him as the new Robin, though realizes early on that Jason has a violent streak. After Jason is killed by the Joker and resurrected in the Lazarus Pit, he goes on to become the Red Hood, straining his relationship with Batman.
Later in the season, Jason meets a waitress named Erin during a bad date. The two end up sleeping together, which results in Erin becoming pregnant. The season ends with Jason convincing her to keep the baby after being told by doctors that his injury would prevent him from being able to conceive a child.
Marriage. The girl he slept with, Crystal, got pregnant and they had a shotgun wedding. Crystal had suffered several miscarriages before this, had previously miscarried one of Jason's babies, and is now pregnant with another. Oddly enough Jason was ecstatic about the engagement regardless of the circumstances.
Warlow deeply loves Sookie and mentioned that whenever he sleeps, he'd dream of Sookie and spending the rest of his life with her. Another side of Warlow was revealed when Sookie hesitated to be turned into a vampire. Warlow lost all patience and began to forcefully turn her.
"The idea was that we wanted Bill to be correct when he said that Sookie could have a normal life, the twist, of course, being that Sookie chose to keep her power and specialness and persevere—despite his belief that she couldn't be okay without giving up her powers," Buckner says.
When Sookie Stackhouse began to show telepathic gifts, Warlow sought to collect his due. Her parents, terrified, planned to kill her. Warlow intervened, and killed Sookie's parents, but was banished to the Dark Realm by Claudine before he could take Sookie.
In the 13th Sookie Stackhouse novel, Dead Ever After, Eric and Sookie's relationship has crashed and burned. Eric is set to officially marry Freyda, the Queen of Oklahoma, and he has been banned from ever seeing Sookie again.
In Dead Ever After, the final book in the series, Sam and Sookie begin a romantic relationship. In the companion book, After Dead: What Came Next in The World of Sookie Stackhouse, it is revealed that Sookie and Sam get married and had four children. Sookie and Sam continued to tend Merlotte's until their retirement.
After a failed attempt to escape from the basement of Fangtasia, Lafayette is shot; he asks Eric, Pam and Chow to turn him into a vampire, and is ferociously bitten.
Eric Northman doesn't die in True Blood. At the end of season six of True Blood, the character of Eric Northman is thought to be dead by the audience. However, in season 7, the audience finds out that Eric Northman is alive, although he has contracted the Hep-V virus. In episode 8, Eric is cured of the Hep-V virus.
Their first hookup is filled with drama, but Lafayette seems to get his wish about finally being happy. At the Thanksgiving table in the epilogue, he and James are sitting beside each other, looking like an in-love couple.
In the season 4 finale, Tara is shot in the head by Debbie. Sookie picks her up from a pool of her own blood, cradling her and screaming for help. Pam enters Sookie's house looking for Eric and sees the dead bodies of Debbie and Tara on the floor. At Sookie and Lafayette's behest, Pam turns Tara into a vampire.
At the end of True Blood, viewers were treated to a flashforward of a married—and pregnant—happy Sookie (Anna Paquin) at a Thanksgiving dinner. Her mystery man was never revealed, but he was played by stuntman Timothy Eulich.
This expanded arc comes as a relief to fans, because Lafayette's character was actually killed in Harris' second novel, Living Dead in Dallas. In the book, Lafayette ended up getting caught up with members of a secret sex club, then murdered. Even more tragic, Sookie ended up being the one to discover his body.
As the series opens, Sookie herself is a 26 year-old virgin. She has remained such because her telepathy causes interaction with most men (human men) to be unpleasant. In the course of the first novel, Dead Until Dark, Sookie loses her virginity to the vampire Bill.
However, that was only one of his betrayals. Not only did Bill cheat on Sookie with his maker Lorena that same season, but in the series premiere, he allowed the Rattrays to beat her close to death so that he could trick her into ingesting his blood. Essentially, he forced them to bond under false pretenses.
She works as a waitress for Sam at his restaurant Merlotte's Bar and Grill and her main on again off again love interest was Bill. However, she did have brief love interests throughout the book series. The most memorable love interest being Eric.
And I think in the case of True Blood, it just felt like we had reached a place where the storytelling was hitting a wall." With no idea of where to take the series, HBO and the show's producers decided it would be best for True Blood Season 7 to be the show's last.
In All Together Dead, after suffering another miscarriage, Crystal becomes pregnant again, so she and Jason marry. Although she makes her vows, she isn't sincere.
She eventually falls for him again and tells him their story, accepting responsibility for the failure of their first relationship. Hoyt again has feelings for her, despite having only just "met" her. Jessica and Hoyt are married shortly after.
On True Blood, Lindsay Pulsipher plays Crystal Norris, the troubled, inbred werepanther torn between her meth-dealing family and a tumultuous love affair with backwoods babe Jason Stackhouse.
